So she sits by the phone all day
Just waiting for him to call
Looks at all the pictures of him
Hanging on the hallway wall
Frames filled with his face
Sitting on her bureau desk
All she can think about lately
Is the day that he left
People criticize her
And her friends think she's stupid
They tell her she won't come back
She just can't play Cupid
So she thinks it over a little
And buys some vacation passes
While she's flying in the plane
Warning lights start flashing
There's some rapping at her door
But little does he know
That never ever again
Will her face ever show
He see's the note on the top
Unfolds it to read it
Looks straight to the bottom
The sweet kiss from her lips
She always signed her notes that way
And it always made him flip
Just to see her precious mouth
That gave off that darling kiss
He dropped by her friends place
With some roses and a note
He told her he was sorry
For the terrible things he'd wrote
He still truly loved her
And wish they still could be
Then at the end of it
He signed 'love always, me'
She made one last phone call
Before her fate became
He answered the phone
After just one ring
She told him she still loved him
He told her she was adored
He let her know that she was missed
She informed he'd see no more
She left a final breath
And then one last 'i love you'
So pure and magnificent
He answered 'me too'
That was their special answer
And they both let down a tear
Then he heard the dial tone
And wished he was near
He dropped down to his knees
And prayed up to God
Asking him to keep that girl
The one that he loved
In the paper next week
Reported that girl's life
He cut out her picture just to remember
Her smile, just how bright

She closes the book of letters
Places it back up on the shelf
How she longs to remember
But she just hurts herself
Memories erase them selves
As her time slowly slips away
Her mind is slipping more and more
Each and every day
She wakes up to the sunrise
And bed by pink sunset
She hasn't felt that good
Since she and her true love met
Young, wild kids
One crazy, messed up summer
It was better than imagined
Nothing could've been funner
One more day gone by
Another picture faded
Memories and thoughts of him
Kept her mind so jaded
She made her final prayers
And then her life passed on

*Lesson Learned
Sitting alone in a corner
She wishes for him to return
But with every mistake made
A lesson followed is learned
The raggedy old house
Burnt down in '84
She was just a little girl
So scared of that lightning storm
After the house was engulfed in flames
She ran back in for her doll
As he ran back in for her
Listening for her call
While she comes out safely
He's still inside looking for her
Mommie's calling out his name
They're longing his return
But no one shall return
From that old burning house
Mommie falls to her knees
Hand grasped on her mouth
Sweet, wet lines
Drop down her beautiful cheeks
With water pouring from those sweet blue eyes
It so much pains me to see
I'm calling for Daddy now
But I don't hear him back
I want to run in, want to save him
From our old burning shack
But I know that I couldn't leave Mommie
For, I would never be back
So I stay there with Mommie, hoping I'm wrong
As the house turns to black
Sirens honking, speeding quickly
Rushing down the street
They see my little house engulfed in fire

Mommie tells them Daddy's still inside
But they know they cannot go in

*She Doesn't Want To Be Alone
She cries his name out in her sleep
Thinking about him repeatedly
He'll never realize it
But he's the only one who keeps her heart beating
While she's alone in the cold
He's out with another girl
She's wishing for him on shooting stars
While he wants to give the new girl his world
She hopes and dreams he's thinking about her
Really, all he wants is fun and games
This girl is in for the same thing too
They just call them dates
While she's waiting for a phone call
He's waiting to get screwed
She's almost positive he's thinking about her
He's pulling his belt loose
She's closing her eyes with dreams of him
He's crawling on the new girl in bed

He doesnt realize what he's caused for her
Nor, will he probably ever care
But I guess those are the consequences for a girl
To fall for someone that rare

LETTER T0 M0MMY
my mommy found me in my room on the floor. before I did this I put my â€˜donâ€™t disturbâ€™ sign
on my door but now as she looks at me with blood flowing from my wrist. she picks up a note
that reads something like this.
Mom, I know I never told youu. never showed it in my face but i`ll tell youu now, my life was
a disgrace. I never planned a future `cus I knew my life would end & now as I write this, youu
were my only friend. I never meant to hurt youu, I never meant to break your heart just keep on
living and we`ll never be apart. tell daddy that I love him. tell sis and brother to be brave &
promise me this on my birthday, ever year put a rose on my grave. I love youu mommy, very
much and when the others cry, tell them I hated them all. each cut will tell them why I must go
now mommy death is calling my name. and when youu see me dead mommy, don`t put on
yourself the blame. i`m picking up the knife right now mommy these tears for youu I cry I just
made the first cut mommy, I guess now i`ll say goodbye.

Staring at her Converse shoes
She walks with her head down
Her black hair hanging past her face
She didn't look at anyone around
Even though it was hot outside
She wore her long sleeve sweater
Sat in her desk quietly in class
No raising her hand, she knew better
If she tried to answer the question
The kids would just make fun of her
So she just called them stupid inside her head
When they just guessed at the answer
After school it was time to go home
After having things thrown on the bus
Then walking down the long driveway
After the bus left her with lots of dust
She'd get in her room and shut the door
To pull out her books for the evening
After about 6:30 there'd be beer bottles thrown
And more of her father's cursing then leaving
Her mom would get depressed and cry real loud
Wail all to herself
So she'd go in the quiet of the bathroom
And snap herself with rubberhands for welts
After that, she'd move to the razor
To make those sweet red lines
As they appeared magically
Hurting more each time
It's not that she loved the pain
Just that it was something she could control
And she wanted to stop, but couldn't
That was all
Finally one night
The fighting had got so bad
Her mother wouldnt quit crying
And it just made her so sad
So she didnt quit cutting that night
Till she finally passed away
And no one even found her dear body
Until the very next day
Her mother didnt seem bothered
And her father didnt have a care
So everyone felt so sorry
And apologized for never being there
Even though they said it to her grave
Her spirit still could see
And so with this information
She rested easily
