Prologue:
“mommy?” looking into her deep crystal blue eyes, I saw something. At the time I didn’t realize it was panic and despair, but then again I was so young. “Mommy? What’s wrong? Where’s bubba?” that’s when her eyes filled with tears. My mother dropped to her knees and began weeping. Scared and confused I hugged her, there was something weird and wrong with the skies there were things falling from them. All around me I heard people screaming and crying I heard dogs barking, and the air… smelt like it was burning. I and my mother sat at the edge of our yard in that same position for what felt like hours. Until something came, it was what looked like a man only scarier. This man’s eyes were a ruby red, and his teeth were pointy and sharp, and he smelled like something dead. Scared I held my mother close, the man thing then came closer and closer until his shoes were just so few inches from where we sat. Terrified and full of young pride I looked him straight in his eyes and yelled “Goes away Mr. Monster! Mommy is very sad!” He then bent over totally ignored me, grabbed my mother by her hair and started dragging her away. I screamed at the top of my lungs, kicked and scratched him with all my might. But the scary man flung his hand out gashing my cheek with his claw like hands and I fell onto my knees crying and screaming for him to come back with my mommy, but he never did. And that was the last day I ever saw my mom, my brother, or any other human beings for the next 16 years.
