    Chapter^2
    I had a boyfriend.
But I still went to my first guitar lesson.
Michael wasn't very excited about that.
But me and Cory were just friends.
    Right?

"Five, six, five, six, seven, eight!" Olivia barked out numbers at me as I glided across the stage in our local auditorium. I was on tonight. Actually, I've been on since my first guitar lesson. Cory was really nice and patient. With musical instruments, I'm pretty hopeless. But he walked me through the notes, gently guiding my hand to the correct strings.
When I told Michael the reason why I was home late, he got mad. He accused me of cheating, lying, all the bad stuff. Long story short, I cried and he finally believed me. He still doesn't like the idea of me hanging with another guy in his bedroom, but once I told him that Cory had a girlfriend, too, he started to feel better about it. Sort of, but not really.
"Turn, down, arms up! START THINKING ABOUT DANCE!" Olivia yelled and clapped to try to get me back in the groove.
As the music faded and I stuck my last stance, Olivia motioned to the Sydney, the light/sound girl, to silence the music.
"Oh crap. I need to get going!" I dashed towards the side of the stage.
"Wait, WHAT?! You can't leave now. We have at least another hour's worth of practicing to do!" Olivia screamed as I ran to the back of the theater and towards the doors.
"I'll see you tomorrow!" I sprinted out of the lobby, still hearing Olivia's nagging yelling reviberating through the building, following me as I walked down the sidewalk.
I was late for a double date.
    With Cory.
Yes. With Cory AND his girlfriend. Cory and I had a practice scheduled today, but Michael insisted that we have a date-night. When I told him about the lesson that night, he went all crazy and yelled again, so I compromised.
As I opened the door to the pizza place, I ran right into someone.
    Yup. Cory.
    Again.
    "I'm so sorry!"
"We've got to stop meeting like this!" Cory smirked at me.
"Ugh, like I said, I should have better coordination." I looked at the ground.
"Hey, it's alright. I was actually just coming out here to look for you," Cory smiled at me. "I guess I found you!"
    I laughed. "I guess so!"
Cory led me into the restaurant and over to a table where Michael and Cory's girlfriend, Tahlia, were in deep conversation.
Tahlia is a very beautiful girl. She has long, wavy auburn hair and bright chrimson eyes. Her eyelashes and legs are super long. But, she's a very selfish person. Her personality doesn't quite match her looks. Personally, I have no idea how she snagged Cory. Cory's so nice and sweet and she's so, well, not.
"Well hey there," I said as I pulled up a red chair.
Tahlia flashed me a dirty look and Michael barely looked at me at all.
I must have looked a bit confused because Cory looked at me and said, "They've been talking since I came in. They were both early, I guess. Pretty awkward, they wouldn't even say hi to me."
"Yeah, that's really wierd. Michael usually has a hard time opening up to new people." I opened the greasy pizza menu.
"Nothing I said could get their attention. I tried everything. Asking questions, telling Tahlia how beautiful she looked, saying I think I was having a siezure. Aaaaand, nothing. Nothing at all." Cory took a sip of his pop.
"Huh. Well, let me try." I looked over at Tahlia and Michael, who were now sitting closer together. "Michael, I'm sad."
    Nothing.
    "Michael, I love you."
    Nada.
    "Tahlia, I love your dress!"
    Zippo.
    "Tahlia, you're rather ugly."
    Zilch.
"Michael, I want to break up."
    STILL nothing.
"Wow. You went even farther than I did," Cory looked impressed.
"Haha, thanks. But I don't know if this is a good thing.." I looked over at Michael and Tahlia, who were staring into one another's eyes.
"Hi! My name's Stacey, and I'll be your waitress today. Is there anything that I can start you all out with today?" A blond waitress stood by our table expectantly.
"Uhm," Cory looked at Tahlia and Michael, who still didn't look up, and then back at me. "Yeah, we'll have two large sausage-pepperoni pizzas. And I'll have a strawberry smoothie with whipped cream, please." Cory flashed the waitress a smile.
"Yeah, me too," I looked up at the waitress.
"Ah, I see. One straw, then, I'm expecting?" The waitress smirked at Cory and I. "You two are such an adorable couple."
"Wait, what?" Cory's eyebrows bunched together.
"Those two are pretty cute as well, but not nearly as much of a match-made-in-heaven as you two," The waitress winked at us.
"Oh, no. We're not a couple," I told the waitress. "I'm actually with him." I pointed at Michael, who was moving closer to Tahlia by the minute.
"Uh uh. No way. You are so much better with him," The waitress motioned towards Cory. "And those two look deeply in love," she pointed at my supposedly 'boyfriend' and Tahlia.
As the waitress walked away, me and Cory bursted out into laughter. We were practically rolling around on the ground. And yet, Tahlia and Michael STILL didn't look up.
Cory and I started to talk about everything and anything. Especially my dance life and his guitar.
Suddenly, Michael and Tahlia nodded at eachother and stood up.
Cory and I stopped mid-conversation and watched them walk outside.
They didn't turn around to say they were going to be right back or where they were even going, so Cory and I got up and followed.
We walked for a long time before we found the outlines of their bodies in the park by Annalyne Lake. Cory and I ran as fast as we could, being as quietly as possible, and snuck up behind a bush to watch.
    Then, we saw them.
Cory just opened his mouth in shock.
A small yelp escaped my lips when I saw.
And all I saw was their lips joined as one.

    Chapter^1
"Felicity! I wish you were better at Science. We got a D on our project. Again." Addie slammed our project's final grade on the desk.
"Oh. That sucks. Whoops," I shrugged and turned away. Addie knew I've never been good at Science, and yet she still chose me as a partner. Her fault, not mine.
"Whatever. God, and this is our FINAL grade! You're so stupid! Ugh!" Addie stomped away.
"Well, that's cool. Look, I've gotta go." I walked away, leaving Addie crying in the lab.
Addie is one of my best friends, but she's always been the over-emotional, bosy, smart one. My other best friend is Kennedy, the fun, easy-going, beautiful one. And I'm Felicity. The boring, average, apparently "stupid" one.
Addie always excells in school, Kennedy in sports and social life. And I excell in nothing. Nada.
It's hard to have those two as best friends.
"Licy! Hey!" Kennedy's light brown, loosely curled hair bounced as she ran towards my locker.
"Hey, Ken. What's up?" I start to put my books in my locker.
"Guess who has a date with hottie with a body this Saturday night!" Kennedy's smile light up her whole face. "Just guess."
"Hmm... I have NO idea." I played stupid. But I knew who she was talking about. Kennedy has always been a guy magnet. "I think I need some help figuring it out..."
"It's Ryan. Can you believe it? Ryan, dating me. ME!" Kennedy squealed. Ryan is the super hot swimmer. Although, I never knew Kennedy even liked Ryan.
"Wow, that's pretty cool. Ryan is super hot," I responded with a small smile. Ryan was never my type, and never will be. Although, I'm not really sure what my type is. I don't have a whole lot of experience.
"Oh, I know! I'm so excited! We're going to go to a movie, that new romantic one, dinner at this fancy restaraunt, did I mention Ryan has a job? Oh, and a CAR! After that, I think we'll go walk through the park, you know, the one next to the lake? Ooooh, and than we'll have a romantic kiss. Not a make out, just a sweet kiss. It's going to be PERFECT!" Kennedy's smile was growing larger and larger.
"That does sound perfect. Buuuuut..." I trailed off.
    "What?" Kennedy stopped smiling.
"Well, it's just that I heard that he only really wants one thing." I pretended to be busy with my bag.
"Not Ryan. He's different. I know it," Kennedy tried to assure me.
"Well, just be careful. I don't want to see you get hurt."
"Oh, I know. You're so sweet," Kennedy smiled at me.
"Hah, thanks. I try. Well, I better get going. I have coffee with Olivia at four." Olivia is my mentor/coach/friend.
I am a dancer, and Olivia is one of the best coaches in the country. She makes me the best at dancing. And a week from now, dance competition season starts. So Olivia wanted to meet today to discuss my practice schedule. Grueling, long, god-awful hours of pure torture. Well, not exactly torture. But it's a whole lot of work.
"Oh, right, of course. Have fun!" Kennedy gave me one last smile before sprinting away towards Addie, who still had tear streaks on her face.
I gave a small smile to Addie, who returned it with a flip of her straight blond hair and a "hmph".
Addie was about a foot shorter than Kennedy, who was around 5'9". Addie was what you would call petite. She could never fit into mine and Kennedy's clothes because she's an extra small, and me and Kennedy are more around the small and medium size.
Kennedy gave me a small shrug and a "don't worry about it" smile, so I just turned and walked out the front door of Annalyne Academy.
I live in the super small, and boring, town of Annalyne, New York. Downtown really isn't very big, so I walked a few blocks from school towards the Alive Cafe, where I was meeting Olivia.
Just as I rounded the corner to the coffee shop, I ran straight into someone.
I must have had some serious speed, cause he was pushed right to the ground.
As he struggled to get up, I couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. Not Ryan attractive, but a different attractive. I wasn't drawn to his body, although that wasn't too bad either, but rather to his smile. And his eyes. AND the very good thing that he wasn't mad at me. I was mad at myself for running into this nice guy, though.
"I am so sorry!" I held out my hand to help him up.
This guy just started laughing as he tried to get up. It was pretty hard for him, though, because of the fact his guitar and papers were strewn everywhere. He grabbed my hand tightly.
"I really am sorry about that," I told him as he was standing upright.
"Hahaha, it's totally fine. I was hoping to get pushed to the ground today, anyways!" He smiled a gorgeous smile and adjusted his guitar strap.
"That shouldn't have happened. I'm a dancer, I should have better coordination," I giggled and gave him a small smile.
"A dancer, huh? That's cool," The guy looked at me and smiled.
"I guess. Do you play?" I pointed at his guitar.
"Haha, yeah, what was your first clue?" The guy winked at me.
"That's really awesome. I've always wanted to play, but dance gets me pretty busy." I looked toward the sidewalk.
"I could teach you sometime, if you wanted," The guy smiled and looked me in the eye, the way other guys never do.
"That would be amazing. My name's Felicity, by the way." I held out my hand again.
"Cory." He took my hand and shook it. "Pleased to meet you, Miss Felicity."
I laughed. "Yes, you too, Mr. Cory!"
"So where were you headed young lady?" Cory tilted his head.
"Oh, actually, I was headed to meet my dance coach." I looked at my cell phone. "And, I'm late. God, she's going to kill me."
    "Well, I'm sorry." Cory nodded.
    "Why are you sorry?"
"It's my fault. I just HAD to be in the way, so you would run into me. This is all my fault." Cory pretended to look guilty.
"Ahahaha, nah. This was a good thing! Now I'll get to learn how to play the guitar! And Olivia is just going to have to have another expresso and chill herself." I smiled a real smile, not a fake one that I use quite alot.
"Well, good. But I don't want to get you in any trouble..." Cory trailed off.
"Haha, yeah, I guess I better get going." I sighed.
"But, I'll need your cell phone number so I can TRY and fit you into my very busy guitar-lessons-teaching schedule." Cory winked his blue eye.
So I gave him my number and walked into the coffee shop feeling exhilerated. My mood was high, even Olivia's constant scolding about being on time couldn't get me down.
    That's how it all started.

I never believed in love. Ever.
And after everything that's happened to me, it's hard to believe that I still believe in anything.
Most things have slipped out of my fingers. But, I have attained the belief of love. More specifically, love at first site. Because it happened to me.
We would tell everyone, including ourselves, that we were just friends. We weren't in love. Nah, you can't be in love with someone you just met. That's crazy. Only idiots believe in things like that.
But as the days went on, I realized I felt something for him. I was never really sure what that something was, but now, after everything, I know exactly what I felt.
