   and because she was finally becoming stronger and overcoming her darkness (the darkness she could not show to you), she was too hard for you.
   and because she remembered everything you ever said and chanted them in the night in hopes of release from the fire surging in her veins, she was too cold for you.
   and because she held fast to the promises she made and hadn't broken (yet) and cried herself to sleep because of the ones she did make, she was too unyielding for you.
   but she tried. oh, did she try.
   and yes, she could not be what you needed or wanted, but at least she helped you find what you did need and want.
   so it's okay to dump us all who've helped you in a little box by the side of the road under a sign labeled "abused animals for free".
   and it's okay to forget about us and move on.
   just don't remind the next one how we failed.
   how we are not your everything.
   how we never were your everything.
   how we could never be your everything.
   and just don't leave the next one under the same sign, by the same road, to be picked up by the same type of people.

   i know i pushed you too far over the edge. i was breaking and falling apart and i dragged you down with me. and for that, i'm very sorry.
   i'm kind of glad we broke up, since it means i have to stand on my own two feet again, and it means that you can spread your wings and soar.
   but i've gotten so much stronger now, so much wiser, and i'm not breaking apart anymore. in fact, i'd say that i'm whole again.
   honestly though, it was hard to "get over you". the trick i used? i'm still in love with you, but love is not selfish. it was better for you that we part, so i'm kind of okay with it. it hurt, i cried, i ate about 4 gallons of ice cream and watched the Titanic for a whole day straight.
   but seriously, to hear that you didn't seem upset at all, that hurts. im glad you're "over me", but it would have been nice to know that i meant something to you still.
