   The next few days passed quickly. Nick convinced Mrs. Kohlman that he was a good kid and that he was dating Kae! He got to see her but not for long. I think Mrs. Kohlman actually likes him! hahaha. Now as for me. I got a weird call from Dan yesterday. This is what it said, "Al, you've been ignoring me. We legit have to talk about this." and then he hung up, so i decided to call him today. What harm could it do right? His phone rang a few times before he finally answered.
   "Hello?" A tired voice answered.
   "Hey!" I said in return.
   "Al?"
   "Yeaah?" This was officially getting awkward.
   "We need to talk.."
   "Which is why I called you." I said and smiled to myself.
   "Al, I-well this is hard to say but- I wanna see other people." My jaw dropped-my smile? GONE.
   "What?" I managed to say.
   "Bye Al." Dan said and hung up. Well that's not what I was expecting.

   "Alaina! Get down here!" My mom yelled from in the kitchen. We just got back from the hospital, they might release Kae soon!
   "Coming!" I yelled back. I ran down the steps and landed with a thud. I walked to the kitchen and sat on a stool.
   "Meatloaf tonight sweetie." My mom said to me pulling the food out of the oven. She's been really nice to me since Kae's been in the hospital.
   "Thanks mom!" I said and got my food. I ate quickly and went back upstairs. Then it hit me-school starts tomorrow; and i have to start freshman year............................without my best friend.

   Mr. Kohlman jumped on me.
   "What's wrong with you?" My mother screamed ripping him off of me.
   "Let me see my daughter." He said threw clenched teeth.
   "NO!" I said screaming from the floor, i wasn't up yet.
   "Alaina stay out of this." My mother warned. Then to my relief; security came and took Mr. Kohlman away.

   Doctors rushed into the hospital room. My mom backed away as they put me in an oxygen mask.
   "What's going on?" My mom was screaming, until a nurse took her away. Suddenly, my surrondings were gonna.

   Mrs. Kohlman was escorted outside of Kae's hospital room. She sat down next to me.
   "What's wrong?" I asked her.
   "Alaina, its not a good thing."
   "What's wrong?" I asked confused. Then Kaelyn's boyfriend, Nick walked in.
   "Nick?" I asked looking up and seeing him. Then it hit me, Kae's mom has never met him before.
   "Who are you?" She snapped.
   "I'm Nick." He said and walked over to us.
   "I heard something happened to Kae, Alaina." He said talking directly to me.
   "How do you know my daughter?" Mrs. Kohlman asked.
   "I'm her boyfriend?" Nick asked and turned back to me. "What happened?"
   "It's a long-" I was interrupted.
   "Kae's boyfriend? HA! That's a good one. Now seriously how do you know my daughter?"

   "Nothing." My mom said and seemed to snap back into reality.
   "Okay?" I asked. I then saw her holding my phone. "Mom, why do you have my phone?" I asked her raising my voice.
   "I wanted to make sure nobody stole it." She said smiling, then she handed it back to me.
   "Oh. Thanks!" I said to her. Just then someone walked into the waiting room; someone I haven't seen for a while.

   "What's gonna happen to me?" I thought to myself.
   "Kaelyn?" I heard my mom's voice as she opened the door.
   "Mom!" I said happy to see her. She got a good look at me and gasped.
   "What happened?" She asked me holding in her anger.
   "I fell down some stairs.." I said looking down.
   "A doctor called me, Kae you don't know how worried i was that you were in the hospital! How could you not of called?" I looked down.
   "I'm sorry mom, I thought Alaina's mom would've called you."
   "Well she didn't!" My mom said pretty loud. Suddenly I gasped and breathing became difficult.
   "DOCTOR! GET A DOCTOR IN HERE!" My mom yelled, she was panicking.

   "Mr. Kohlman, what are you doing here?" I asked him, he left Kae and her mom like two years ago.
   "Where's my daughter?" He asked with clenched fists.
   "I don't think she wants to see you." I said standing up.
   "What did you say kid?" He almost yelled at me.
   "I said that you hurt the two people who have ever loved you. Kae and Mrs. Kohlman don't want to see you." I said. Little did I expect that I could be the next one in the hospital.

   I followed my mom into Kaelyn's hospital room. Not knowing what would happen, but definetly not thinking the worst.

   I walked Alaina into Kaelyn's hospital room and walked back out to give them some privacy. I realized when I sat down that Alaina had left her phone on the seat next to me. Now, I'm her mom; who says I can't look through her phone? I opened it up and went straight to her messages. Apparently Dan says that they need to talk about something? I scrolled down her messages looking for more details. Suddenly her phone vibrated; a new text message. From Dan? I opened it up and gasped.
   Al, I wanna move on.

   Alaina came into my room with her mom. Once her mom went away Ali sat next to me. (Ali's my nickname for her.) "How did this happen?" She asked me running her hands through her hair.
   "Its not that bad." I told her looking down at my leg that was now in a cast. She touched the IV in my arm which stung.
   "How is this not that bad?" She asked me.
   "I'll be fine. Its not like I'm gonna die or anything like that." I said smiling to her. Suddenly the doctor came in.
   "Hello Kaelyn. Can I talk to you alone?" She asked. Alaina walked outside when the doctor started.
   "Kaelyn, where are your parents?" I gulped and looked down while starting to play with my hands.
   "Well, I live with my mom." I said slowly.
   "What about your dad?" Tears started forming in my eyes, i tried my hardest to hold them back.
   "My dad left us two years ago."
   "I'm sorry Kaelyn. Can I have your mom's phone number? I need to talk to her immediately."
   "555-8771" I said. I didn't know what to think.

   I was rushed out of Kaelyn's hospital room for no reason. I walked back to the waiting room to see my mom staring off into space.
   "Mom, what's wrong?" I asked her; she doesn't usually do this.

   Kaelyn and I were balling our eyes out.
   "Alaina, this movie's horrible." Kaelyn said to me, all i could do was laugh.
   "THE GAME!" I said as we both started laughing hysterically. In case you didn't know; you're losing the game.
   "I hate you." Kaelyn said after she had caught her breath.
   "I love you too." I said. "GET OUT OF THE CLOSET!" I yelled to the tv screen infront of us.
   "What are you doing?" Kae asked me confused, that's my nickname for her. Kae...
   "Going upstairs to eat some bacon." I said hopping off the couch and running up my basement stairs as fast as i could.
   "MOM!" Kaelyn yelled running after me. I laughed and fell up the stairs. I fell down the stairs and took Kaelyn's legs out from under her. I never thought that we'd be in the hospital tonight.

   I sat outside Kaelyn's hospital room expecting the worst. Suddenly i got a text from my boyfriend, Dan.
   Al, we need to talk.
   Of course, the words every girl wants to hear. "Alaina." My mom said startling me.
   "WHAT?" I half screamed into her face.
   "Well obviously since you're in a BAD mood, i'll leave you to yourself." She left the outside of the waiting room. Ugh, i hate her when she does this; wanting me to fix my own problems. Who does she think she is? Anywho, i looked back at the text. What did it mean? I mean Dan and I have been dating for almost 6 months now. I decided to text him back.
   What about?
   I grieved for the answer that i never received.
   "Alaina." My mom said five minutes after I calmed down.
   "Yeah mom?" Her tone meant that there was gonna be bad news.
   "You need to come see her."
   "Okay." I then followed my mom silently into Kaelyn's hospital room...
