Struck by Lightning
Chapter 2
I felt a surge of electricity burst through my body. Suddenly, all of the darkness around my body was bright and brilliant. My body flew back through the air – Just like a body would in a movie if it were taken over by a ghost. I felt like a bird. A lonely, helpless bird.
I hit the ground, right in the middle of the road, and spazzed out. My body shook and I could feel my spit practically boiling in my mouth.
A light showed up in my vision. It was very dim at first, but quickly got brighter. I could also hear music, increasing with the light. It became loud and obnoxious.
I tried to look up, just move my head a little bit, but the surge of electricity running through my body was too much to control. But when the light and music came closer, I heard a rumbling, a buzzing. I soon recognized the buzzing, and my eyes shot open, as the rest of my body just laid in the road.
The light coming was a car.
I tried to jump up and run out of the way from the car, but I didn’t have enough control over my body. I quickly scrambled my body, almost like crawling on my back, and got to the side of the road, but I wasn’t fast enough. When the car came by, its front and back right tire rolled over my right hand.
I hollered in pain. I shrieked a sound that I’ve never heard come out of my mouth.
Right after the car ran over my arm, the driver slammed on the breaks. He came running out of his car and ran over to me. I couldn’t recognize who it was, because it was so dark and they had a hat over their head, but I could see the worry in his eyes.
He probably couldn’t see me too well either, because It was dark, and I was covered in mud. The electric shock that burnt my body didn’t help me look so great either.
The man cupped his hands around his mouth, “I’M SO SORRY. ARE YOU ALRIGHT?”
I wanted to tell him that he might’ve broken my arm somewhere and that I was just electrocuted, but all that came out of my mouth was spit and the sound of a whining dog.
The man cursed under his breath and paced back of fourth, probably thinking.
After about 15 seconds of thought, he bent down and put his arms under me. He picked me up with one hand under my back and one under my knees. He quickly opened the back door to his car and laid me down across the backseat. He shut the door and ran to the front seat of the car, and started driving.
