Paint The Town
Tonight we paint the town red
With our silver paint brushes
Borrowing paint from people we don’t know
But figure its ok
Because they are not us. It does not matter.
You are you, they are who they are
Which is the reason for the tension.
Tonight the town was painted red
With the paint of soldiers
Who forgot what they were creating (destroying)
So they splattered the first wall they saw
With red paint they took
Which was the same as theirs
But it had a different can covering
So they thought it was less valuable than their precious paint
When it was in fact, no more or less.
After the night ended and the town was painted
People observed the art
Some were angered
Some were happy
And a few saddened
And the artists were taken for their art
Because their paint wasn’t really paint, was it?
