You have every right to feel the way you do
As a father, I was not never there for you
It was not easy to be left behind
But I always hoped you would understand in time
It broke my heart not be by your side
You did not see the many nights I cried
I should have given you more attention
Gave you more time, love and affection
Tried a little harder to show how much I care
But the pain inside was at times, too much to bear
So instead I retreated, selfish I know
Retreated from your life, and just could not watch you grow
I am truly sorry, for my stupid selfishness
I should have been there for my special princess

For Yasmin, my beautiful away-taken daughter
You are a princess in my heart,
