Angel
Between the rose bushes,
Before the cottage,
Across the bridge,
Lays a river.
Beside the flowing tides,
A lone girl sits.
Underneath, a eucalyptus tree,
She stares out at the clear, sparkling, watering hole.
Amongst the animals,
Through out the woods,
The angel cries.
She screams out into the night.
Without notice,
A boy wanders out to the lake.
Beside her, he sits down, and asks “what’s wrong?”
Up until he spoke, she was unaware of his presence.
But now, she turns to him,
“Everything!” she wails.
After she bursts out,
She collapses into the strange boys lap.
With no sense of anything, she curls up in a ball,
And he rocks her back and forth,
Soothing the ravaged angel.
On the {[outskirts]} of the pond, a dear taking a drink, looks up,
A witness to this magical moment,
That the angel will not soon forget.
As the tears subside, she wipes her eyes, and looks up at the angel.
She knew she finally understood,
Why she let this stranger soothe her,
For one sole purpose.
She knew him.
His arms, the way she fit in his lap, was familiar.
She knew him,
She needed him,
She loved him.
He saved the Angel from Destruction.
