Flash Suicide and Car Accidents ....
Chapter 2
I woke up laying on the cold, hard pavement . My clothes felt wet . I looked around and saw red liquid EVERYWHERE . I saw my mom and a police officer . I saw the 18 wheeler tipped over on the side of the road, on fire with fire fighters putting the fire out . I saw my little Ford Mustang.... it was crushed against a tree . The windsheild was smashed with blood on it and the engine was smoking . 'Did I go though the windshield ?' I thought to myself . I saw my mom's Ford Fiesta and the police car .
"Is she okay ? Will she make it ? Will she live ?" I heard my mom say as I lay there, motionless and in excrutiating pain . There was glass shards in my arms and legs and stomach .
"We're not sure . We regualted her breathing for now but if we don't get her to a hospital in an hour, she may die . The ambulance is on it's way ..." The officer looked my way then back at my mom . My mom began to cry . I wanted to tell her i'm fine and i'll be okay but then I blacked out ...
I woke up in a hospital bed . 'How did I get here ?' I thought to myself as I looked around the room with tired eyes . My mom was sleeping in the chair that was placed in the corner .
".... Mom ? ...." I said in a raspy voice . My mom woke up, she looked at me in disbelief . She ran over to the bed and hugged me .
"You'll make it baby . You're okay now . Do you remember what happened ?" She asked as she was hugging me .
"Yeah a little," I said, "I remember finding out Siera committed suicide then driving down the road . I couldn't see . An 18 wheeler was coming at me, fast . The I heard a crash . I remember waking up on the pavement, blood was all around me and I heard you talking to a police officer ..."
"You heard that ? The EMT said you had a concussion . They didn't know when you'd wake up ." My mom replied .
"Yeah, then I blacked out . Is my Mustang okay ?"
"Hunny... Your Mustang was totaled ..."
"OH MY GOD ! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED ?!"
"The 18 wheeler hit you at 30 mph but you were going 60 so it totaled your Mustang . You went spinning off the road, rolled over 3 times and hit a tree . When your car rolled over the first time, you went flying out of the windshield and hit the pavement at 20 mph . You were instantly knocked out . The driver of the 18 wheeler saw the whole thing . He's paying you $50,000 and ALL of your hospital . He feels terrible because he caused this ."
"So i'll be able to get a new one ?" I asked
"If you want . It's your money . See..." My mom said and showed me an envelope with the check in it . It read:
To: Katie
From: The driver who hit you... Uberto Clemens
"There's a note too..." My mom said, handing me a note . This is what it said:
Dear Katie,
I'm very sorry for crashing into you and totaling your Mustang.
So in return, I'm giving you $50,000 to buy a new one... if you
want and I will pay all your hospital bills . I'm terribly sorry about
this whole thing. Cash the check as soon as you get out of the hospital
and I hope this matter will be somewhat resolved. You may call me
anytime. My number is under my signature . I would like to
apologize personally. Until then, goodbye .

I put the note down and looked in the envelope . There it was; A check for $50,000 . That wasn't going to solve anything though . My mom gave me my cell phone and I added his number ....
