The Girl Who Lost Her Own Battle
Chapter One.
Ellen. 16 years old died, Saturday January 20th 2011.
Cause of death: Suicide
There I was, Ellen, the girl everyone thought was going to do alright,
the girl everyone thought was just fine. I wasn't fine and now..
I'm dead.
I had just got back to my best friend Angelas house when I noticed it was almost 7:30. My house was only down the road. My mom told me I needed to be home for dinner so I told Angela I was going to start walking home and I'd see her tomorrow at school. Angela's mom asked, "Ellen, would you like a ride home, I know your house is only down the road but it's getting dark." I said, "I'll be fine, thank you though." And I headed to the door. It was a beautiful night out so I didn't mind walking. My neighborhood was usually pretty quiet besides a few nights in the summer when kids threw parties when their parents went away. While I was walking down the street four police cars and an ambulance drove past me with their lights on and sirens on high blast. I was kind of shocked to see that many cops drive past me in this neighbor hood. I didn't think to much about it. I started to get closer to my house and saw the police car and the ambulance sitting in my drive way with the lights still on and a few people standing all around. My heart started pounding. My parents haven't been getting along that well lately and thought maybe they got into a fight. But four police cars and an ambulance? People standing out side of my house? That's a lot.. to many for a fight. I started to walk faster. I was almost to my house I was scared. I didn't want to get any closer. I was two houses down from my house, I stopped. Sweat was dripping down my face. I took one step when my neighbor Jeff, who is about 35 asked me what happened. I told him I didn't know. I finally got to my house and when I was about to go inside a police officer stopped me and said " Excuse me! 'Mam, you can not go inside." I told him that this was my house and I needed to see my mom. His faced turned pale and he led me inside right away. He sat me down in the kitchen and told me my mother was down stairs and had just got shot twice. I almost fainted. I told him I needed to see her. He tried to stop me and tell me it probably wasn't a good idea but I ran down stairs and before I was all the way down the stairs I could see her laying there, almost life-less. I ran over to her crying so hard, it was getting harder for me to breath. I wouldn't let her go, there was blood all over her, it was getting on my hands and all over my clothes. The perimedics were trying to get me off of her so they could finish working on her. I was screaming.
"Mom, I love you!" "I'm going to find out who did this to you!"
She whishpered back to me, "I love you."
At that moment right in front of my eyes, I saw my mother take her last breath. I dropped my head on her chest. I was covered in blood. The perimedics pronounced her dead at 7:46 pm on Monday May 19th 2010. I stood up and once I turned around I saw my father. He was sitting there with two cops on either side of him, hand cuffed with his hands behind his back. I didn't know what to say or do. I wanted to kill him. "You killed her. You killed my mother! You killed your wife, in your own house! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! How could you do this to me?" My father he started to cry. "Why are you crying?", I asked. "You're pathetic." He looked at me and said "Ellen, I'm-" But before he could finished I walked away. I went out side. I felt naugsious, a little light headed. Everything was turning black. The next thing I know, I wake up and I'm laying in a hospital bed and when I open my eyes I wonder what just happened.
