    Leyla's POV
I frowned as I walked up the stairs and into the main part of the airport. Mom walked up to me and threw her arms around me.
"Hey, honey!" She said. She seemed happy.
"You're in a good mood." I said. I tried not to sound too surprised.
"Doctor says if I keep going to therapy, I can go back to work in a month!" Mom said.
"That's great news, Mom." I said, picking up her suitcase. Another job for her to get fired from because of her emotional problems, another job I'll have to pick up to pay for expensive things she breaks when she gets mad, more bills....
"You don't care? You're not happy for me?" Mom asked.
"Of course I'm happy for you mom!" I said, smiling. I was trying, really, I was.
I glanced at my watch. I had one last job today, my night shift.
"Hey, Mom, I'm going to drive you home, but then I have to get to work, okay?" I said, putting Mom's suitcase into the taxi.
"But, we were going to have dinner." Mom said, already staring to get upset.
"I'm sorry, but your plane was delayed for almost two hours and I just don't have time."
I ran into Richman's right on time and ran into the back.
"Woah, Leyla, what are you wearing?" Brittany asked, looking at my clothes. They were normal clothes, jeans and a t-shirt.
    "I'm wearing clothes." I said. She fake-smiled
"You are going to change, right?" She asked.
"Duh." I said. I closed the door and changed clothes.
"C'mon girls, we need you out here! The game started ten minutes ago!" Walt said from out in the bar.
Great, another hour of wearing tight shirts and pouring drinks for rude sweaty guys that call me sweetie.

    Rose's POV
I wanted to slide out of the booth and run far away.
Justin was eating his fries so slowly.... Alice was sipping her water even slower. I'd already finished all my food and now I was just sitting there while they finished.
I glanced out the window at the park across the street and sighed. I had to get over there.
I just wanted to run around.
"You okay, Rose?" Justin asked. I nodded. His plate was finally pretty much empty and he was paying the bill.
"Oh, let me get that." Alice said, digging in her purse for her wallet.
"No, I got this one." Justin insisted.
"Fine, but I'm leaving the tip." Alice said, glancing at the bill.
She left a ten dollar bill on the table and we slid out of the booth.
"So, what are we doing today?" I asked eagerly, still looking at the playground.
Justin followed my gaze and grabbed my hand.
"To the playground." He said. He dragged me out of the resturant and into the park.
Alice followed, putting on lipgloss as she walked.
I ran to the swings and sat down on one.
"Push me!" I said. I didn't care if I sounded like a little kid. Justin came up behind me and placed his hands on the center of my back.
I smiled as the swing went into motion.
Alice plopped down in the swing next to mine and put in her headphones. She stared off into the distance, digging in the woodchips with her toes. Justin left me and started pushing her swing.
I wanted to tell Justin to come back and push me, but I decided not to. I'd sound too needy. I stared down at my stomach and started think about that stupid party.
What would Justin say? What woud he do? Would we break up?
This baby couldn't grow up without a father and Justin was the perfect guy to do that.

    Justin's POV
I smiled and looked over at Alice. We'd been sitting, waiting for Rose to come out of the bathroom.
I glanced at Alice again. She was looking at me already.
"You think she's okay?" I asked. Alice nodded, like she knew what was going on.
"Hi." Rose said, walking out of the bathroom.
"Do you have a piece of gum?" Rose asked as we started walking. Alice nodded and started digging around her purse.
"Did you...?" Alice asked. Rose nodded and reached for my hand. I gave her a questioning look but she waved it off.
She turned to Alice and made a pained face.
"Rose, are you okay?" I asked.
"Actually, I'm not feeling my best..." Rose looked up at me and smiled.
    I was sure I looked confused, but I didn't care. I nodded.
"We'll take you back to the hotel." I assure her.
    We ducked into the limo.
"Where to, sir?" The driver asked.
    "The hotel." I said.
    Rose smiled apologetically.
"This doesn't mean you guys can't keep hanging out." Rose said.
"Are you sure...?" Alice asked. She widened her huge eyes and tucked her hair behind her ears.
"Really." Rose said. She smiled and let go of my hand.
Alice and I walked back out of the hotel and started walking.
"Am I not allowed to know why Rose is acting so strange?" I asked. I smiled at Alice, but didn't get a smile in return. Alice stopped walking, so I stopped too.
"I think Rose wants to tell you herself." Alice said. I nodded.
Alice stayed still, like she was scared to be alone with me.
"You okay?" I asked. Alice nodded and started walking reluctantly.
"Of course, I just..." Alice glanced behind herself at the hotel and stared at it longingly for a little while.
"Do you want to go back?" I asked. Alice shook her head.
"No, I'm sorry, that was really rude." She smiled and tucked her hair behind her ears. I was starting to miss her chocolate brown hair. The black hair didn't really suit her personality.
"It's fine." I said. I reached for her hand and squeezed it as we walked. It was starting to get dark and the sky was a perfect shade of purple.
"Its so beautiful!" Alice said, following my gaze to the sky.
"Just like you." I whispered. She looked at me, her big eyes happy. I grinned at her and ran to the nearest fountain dragging her along behind me.
Then, I jumped in. Alice let go of my hand and stood back while I splashed around.
"C'mon, Alice, nobody's around!" I said. I reached out and grabbed her wrists pulling her into the fountain.
"Let's dance." I said. I placed my hand in the middle of her back and pulled her into me, the fountain raining down on us.
Alice looked up at me, her make up washing away with the water. She looked so beautiful without it I wondered why she ever wore it.
I took my free hand and wiped away the make up with my thumb.
"I probably look awful now." Alice said, smiling up at me.
"Far from it." I assure her. I take her hand in mine and she puts her head on my chest.
And we sway to the rhythm of the water falling all around us.

    Justin's POV
I smiled at Alice as she walked over to the edge of the dance floor.
I gently grabbed her hands and pulled her back onto the floor.
She walked slowly over to me and placed both hands on my chest. She gave a small smiled. I wrapped my arms around her as we danced to the song, slow....
She'd changed outfits so she wasn't wet and she re-applied her make up.
I looked down at the floor, smiling at the feet all around us. Alice lifted her hands from her chest and lifted them above her head, swaying to the music. I grabbed one of her hands and spun her.
She laughed. It was barely audible over the noise of the club, but I heard it.
    I smiled.
Alice spun into me and put her arms around my neck.
A slower song came on and Alice started to leave.
"Don't go." I muttered in her ear. She looked up at me and nodded, letting me move with her.
The club was so dark, but her face was illuminated by the lights on the floor. She was fantastic.
We left the club at around midnight, right when all the other shops were starting to close up. It was raining pretty hard, so I pulled Alice into the nearest store and we watched it rain for a moment before I noticed it was a jewelry store.
"Pick something. Anything." I said. Alice looked at me and widened her eyes. I nodded.
She walked over to the earrings and I went over to the necklaces.
I picked one out, one with diamonds in the shape of a butterfly and held it up to show her.
    She smiled.
    "That's beatiful!" She said.
"Like you." I said. She blushed.
"Do you want it?" I asked.
    Alice shook her head.
"Its way too expensive." She said.
"No, nothing's too expensive." I said. I handed it to the woman behind the counter.
Alice and walked out into the rain with her new necklace.
"You want me to put it on you?" I asked.
She smiled and nodded, so I lifted her hair and clipped the necklace into place.
    "Perfect." I said.
"Just like you." Alice replied. I smiled and cupped her cheek with my hand, wiping away her make up with my thumb.
"Justin..." Alice said, starting to pull away.
"Can you tell me right now, looking me in the eyes, that you don't want to kiss me?" I asked.
    She shook her head.
    "Didn't think so." I whispered.
And I leaned in and kissed her.

    Rose's POV
Alice wouldn't look me in the eyes when she got home. She changed into her pajamas right away and dove for the fridge.
Alice didn't like to eat in front of people. She said it made her feel fat. She poured a big bowl of fattening kids' cereal and plopped down on the couch next to me.
Don't get me wrong, it was nice to see her confident enough to eat in front of me and my unborn child, but something was off about her.
"What are we watching?" She asked.
"Some lame movie from the 90's." I said. She smiled and took a big bite of cereal.
"How'd things go with Justin?" I asked. Alice looked down at her bowl, gathering her words.
"It was bittersweet." She said after a moment.
"How so?" I asked. Now I was actually interested.
"Fun, but sad that you weren't there." She said quickly. I looked at her.
"Oh. Okay." I said. My phone buzzed in my pocket. Justin.
    "Hello?" I said.
"Open the door, please." Justin said. I giggled and hung up while I walked to the door. I fixed my hair, then pulled it open.
"Hey." I said. Justin's hair was messy and he was in his pajamas. He half-smiled and glanced behind me, inside the room.
"Hey." Justin said. I stepped back to let him in and closed the door behind him.
"Did you tell her?" Justin asked. Alice shook her head.
"Tell me what?" I asked. I sat down on the couch.
"Rose, Alice and I..." Justin started, his eyebrows knitted together in sadness or worry.
"We kissed." He finished. He looked down at his feet and then glanced up to look at me.
"You what?" I asked. Had I heard him correctly?
"You cheated on me? With my best friend?" I asked. Justin looked up and shook his head rapidly.
"It wasn't like that... it was just a friendly mistake. We're not... we didn't... we wouldn't... Rose..." Justin reached for my hand, but I swatted it away.
    "Get out." I said.
"What?" Justin asked. He looked at me, hurt. Alice stood up.
"It didn't mean anything. It was just to break the tension. A joke. It was funny at first, but now its really not. We're both really sorry." She said. Justin nodded his agreement.
I'd gotten all upset over something so tiny. Stupid pregnancy hormones.
"Justin..." I looked over at him. I gave him my I'm-so-sorry face and smiled.
    "I should go." He said.
    I nodded.
"Night." He said. And with that, he shut the door.

I grabbed Alice's arm and pulled her aside.
"I'm sorry about last night. It won't happen again." I said. She nodded. She wouldn't look up to look in my eyes.
Rose pulled me up to the jewelry store and pointed at necklaces and bracelets.
I looked at Alice behind us. She was sitting on the edge of the fountain we'd danced in.
This was the jewelry store. The one she and I were in.
I took a deep breath and pretended to be listening to Rose.
What was wrong with me? Why was I thinking about Alice more than my girlfriend?
Did I really love Rose? Why was she acting so strange?
I shoved my hands into my pockets and nodded at whatever Rose was saying.
"Okay then let's go!" Rose said, dragging me away from the jewelry store. Alice didn't budge.
    "What about Alice?" I asked.
"Since when do you actually care what she does?" Rose asked, her face amused. When did I not care about Alice?
"I've always cared." I said. I looked down at my feet.
Rose put her hands on her hips impatiently.
I looked over at Alice and all her perfection. She had tears streaming down her face and she was hugging her knees to her chest.
I wanted to hug her and ask her what was wrong, but Rose dragged me away.

    Justin's POV
"We can go nowhere but down, from here, my dear..." Rose whispered, as we landed at LAX.
"Ha-ha, very funny." I said. I leaned over to kiss her cheek, but she turned her head.
With our faces only centimeters apart, I got a really good look at her eyes. She kept glancing down at my lips, and thatwas when I went in for the kill.
I pressed my lips against hers and cradled her face with my left hand. Rose placed one hand firmly on my chest and just let it rest there, like she thought she was supposed to push me away, but didn't want to.
I felt her smile against my already smiling lips after a moment. This was awesome.
Alice gently tapped my shoulder. The entire plane had already cleared out.
Had we been kissing for that long? This plane had been packed!
"Wow, Justin, look at your bathtub!" Alice screamed.
I ran into the bathroom to find her sitting in my bathtub, meditating with her eyes shut. I couldn't help but laugh; she looked hilarious.
I shook my head and left the room.
"In a bathtub built for two!" Alice sang.
I went into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water.
I glanced over at my balcony just as Rose pulled the French doors open. The second she walked out onto it, the wind whipped her hair all around her head and shoulders and the bottom of her shirt flapped against her body.
I ran up behind her and slid my arms around her waist, kissing the top of her head.
Rose turned around in my arms the face me and leaned back against the railing. She smiled at me, her hair flying into my face and hers.
She wrapped her arms around my neck and we kissed again.
This one was better than the first one. I heard loud chatter and screaming below us; the paparazzi.
I ignored them. This was between me and my Rosie.
"Justin..." Rose muttered against my lips.
    I pulled back.
    "Yes?"
"Are we like, are we dating now?" She asked.
"Do you want to be?" I asked. I was hoping she'd say yes.

"I, would love to be your girlfriend." I said. Justin smiled and leaned in again.
"But, I also want to keep it from my parents for a while, if that's okay. They'd forbid me from ever stepping foot in California again if they found out, and they'd start hating you, and they'd never let me talk to you, so we have to ease them into this, and take things nice and slow, and..." Justin was giving me this amazing look, like he was surprised I'd ever want to be his.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked. His arms were still around my waist, my hair still flying around my head, probably getting tangled.
"Because I've always wanted this. I didn't realize it, and sorry it took me so long to find you." Justin said. His eyes were sparkling with pleasure as he leaned in again.
Hey, seal anything you say with a kiss, right?
"So, obviously, you two just made out on the balcony." Alice said.
"What? No... It wasn't making out... It was..." I gave up and threw myself onto the bed.
"Justin is super lucky that you find him cute enough to date." Alice joked. I smiled and covered my face with a pillow.
"We have to go out, get you all fancy-looking for your knew STBH." Alice said. She stood up and started humming 'Baby'.
"STBH?" I asked, picking up my purse and following her out of the room.
"Soon to be husband." Alice said. And then she giggled. Alice Donahuge actually giggled.
"Did you just giggle?" I ask. I was smiling so wide, I must've looked like a mentally unsound clown.
"No, I chuckled, guffawed." Alice said, removing the smile from her face and letting her dark hair fall back into her face.
She was like a new person every second, crazy, unpredictable, and obviously scarred.
"You okay, darling?" I asked. She nodded and put the back of her hand on her forehead, acting dramatically faint.
"But, oh dear! It's so damned hot!" She collapsed right there on the sidewalk and then exploded into a fit of laughter.
I paused, waiting for her to gather her composure.
She was so crazy. But, I loved her.
"Quick question, Ms. Rose," She said, standing up and rolling up the bottoms of her jeans.
"Ask me anything!" I said. I lifted my arms flamboyantly, playing into her latest and greatest character.
"Are you carrying Timmy Wilson's baby?" She asked, holding an invisible microphone in front of my mouth. That caught me off guard. Timmy Wilson? I hadn't thought about him since I met Justin.
"Uh, no." I said. I froze where I was and placed my hands on my hips.
"Just wondering, because you've got a few unopened texts from him on your phone." She said, holding my phone up.
"How...?" I knew she was good at everything, but pick-pocketing?
"Let's open them, shalllll weeee?" She said stretching out the last two words and smiling like a supermodel.
"You're a privacy invader." I said, snatching the phone from her hands.

"Listen, man, I have to go, but this conversation isn't over."
"Oh, Chazzy, I think it is." I say. I hang up and toss my phone onto the bed.
"One day, when the sky is falling, I'll be standing, right next to you...." Rose was singing as she walked next to me down the sidewalk. I glanced over at her and smiled. She was skipping like a little kid.
"So, Justin, is Rose a good kisser?" Alice asked. I glanced at her, only to find her walking on her hands behind us.
"Yeah, she's almost as good as me." I joked. Rose stuck out her tonuge and crossed her eyes.
    "You're both crazy." I said.
"You're just figuring that out?" Rose asked. I smiled.
"OMG, we have to jump into the river." Alice said. She took off her shoes and started running. I didn't see a river anywhere. Then, I started laughing.
Alice started jumping up and down in a stream of water running down the side of the road, coming from a garden hose.
I took off my shoes and ran after her, splashing into the tiny river after her.
"Who's crazy now, Bieber?" Rose said. She started dancing in circles, dipping her toes into the river.
"Oh, it's not that cold, you should come all the way in." Alice urged. I nodded.
There were people all around us, taking pictures and video taping.
"Kenny, get in on this!" I screamed. I kicked at him, splashing water onto his legs.
"I'll have to pass on this one." Kenny said.
    "Party pooper!" Rose said.
We must've looked like we were on crack or something.
"Yeah, Kenny! Party pooper!" Alice said. She giggled and sat down on the curb.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Rose asked. She plopped down on the curb next to her, and I sat down on the other side, taking my shoes and socks from Kenny.
"It's just," Alice looked suddenly very sad. Her voice sounded like it was going to crack, but she cleared her voice and put on a smiled.
"My pet hamster and personal trainer, Ridley, loved to splash in rivers." She said. She took her shoes from Kenny and we started waling again, this time in silence.
Rose and I had a coversation with our eyes, wondering what was going on. Alice had been crazier than normal lately.

"Hey, Ali." Rose said. She closed th door behind her and flopped onto the bed next to me.
"Hola senorita!" I said cheerfully. I guess the cheerfullness wasn't as effective with my faqce buried in the blankets, but she seemed satisfied.
    "Como estas?" She asked.
"Mal." I said simply. Darn, why'd I say I was feeling bad?? Now she was going to feel bad for me.
    "Wait, why?" Rose asked.
"My er, dentist and facebook friend Reggie Bush is dying of pant tightness." I say. I take a deep breath and wipe my face on the blankets before looking up at her.
She raised an eyebrow, but then lets it go.
"What should I wear for my date with Justin?" She asked. She put her suitcase up on the bed and started pulling out dresses.
"You know that I've been out of fashion ever since Patrick Swayze died." I said. I sat up and tucked my hair behind my ears.
"There ain't no style like that 80's style." Rose agreed.
She smiled and held up her blue dress with the sparkles.
"You were going to wear that to Timmy's party, right?" I asked. Oops. That's twice in one day. What was wrong with me? Why did I keep bringing up her ex-lover?
"Uh, yeah." She put it back and pulled a red one out.
    "Ooh, rojo!" I say enthusiastically.
"You really like it?" She asks.
"Si. Muy... sexy." I said. I gave her a thumbs up and she rolled her eyes at me.
"One day, when the sky is falling, I'll be standing, right next to you...." Rose sang as she left the room.
I buried my face in the blankets again, and this time, I let it all out.

I left Alice to cry about her dentist. She was acting so strange, it was kind of hard to be around her.
I sat down on the couch and inspected the dress.
Alice was right. It was perfect.
I couldn't focus on anything except Justin, so I decided to take a nap.
    Maybe I'd dream about him.
I put the dress on the coffee table and spread out on the couch, willing myself to fall asleep.
"Why did I have three cups of coffee?" I groaned.
After a while, my mind relaxed, my body went to mush, and I was asleep.

I stood up and inspected my dress. Perfect blue.
"Hey-hey!" Alice said, walking into my room.
"You ready?" She asked. She smoothed her perfect hair to the side.
"Nice dress." I said, picking up my purse. Her dress was better than mine, more expensive-looking. It was purple with sparkly blue flowers lining the bottom hem. My perfect blue suddenly seemed like boring blue in comparison.
    "Nice dress yourself." She said.
I smiled, even though I knew she was just being polite.
"This is going to amazing." I said. She opened my door for me and we walked down the stairs and into my living room.
"Bye Mom!" I called. I shut the door behind myself and we ran to Alice's car.
This was before Alice got her car taken away because she was diagnosed as mentally ill.
    "Hop in!" Alice said sweetly.
    She hadn't changed personalities once.
    We must've been going to...
"Uh..." Why couldn't I get myself to go back inside? This was MY dream. Aren't I supposed to be able to change it?
But, Dream-Rose got into non-crazy Dream-Alice's car and they sped down the road.
"Okay, so, I'm obviously designated driver, so I'm not drinking tonight. Are you?" Dream-Alice asked.
"No." I said firmly. That was what got me in trouble in the first place. No, I would not be drinking.
Dream-Alice led the way into the party and headed off into the dim lighting with some girls, and Dream-Rose went straight for the beer.
No, no, no! Why couldn't I stop myself from walking over?
I drank one beer, then two, and by the time I finished my fourth I was already kissing Timmy in the backyard. There was no turning back now.
I had to wake up. I had to.
**Author's Note: This chapter is to help you guys put together why Alice is the way that she is. More on this later.
Another chapter this afternoon/evening and maybe one tonight.
