She should try it with the new guy! Love is a fickle thing, or rather, it is like the ocean. If it is real, it always comes back to the shore. A boat can't change the path of the tides, the waves. If the first guy really loves her, then it won't hurt her to try with someone new. And if he doesnt, well then, she's helping herself move on.

In all honesty, from a guys perspective, if the first guy truly loved her, then he would let her go and let her move on so she could meet new people. Being in love implies that you just want the other to be happy. If it's pretty obvious he's hurting her, he should be a man and let her have the chance to be happy, even if it means her being with someone else.
