The reason to try in life is that here you are, and you only get one chance, so WTF, why not? Do you have anything better to do? Are you really such a weak operator that you would give up after winning the lottery?
Religious Wars People are stupid. Many agree that there is one creator, but they see each other as enemies because of the names they use to point to that creator. Can they not imagine that a creator of that magnitude would be equally misrepresented by all names?
How much more time must pass before we meek finally inherit the Earth? So many generations we've sacrificed waiting for our oppressors to tire themselves of exercising every depravity upon us that it seems we might be stupid after all. Must we grow teeth and become as our enemies in order to end our suffering? Must we adopt the ways of the ones whom we despise? If we became them, we might escape our torture, but would we not also lose ourselves in unbecoming? Once evicted from our hearts, dishonored peace would lose its last refuge and disappear forever. It is our duty to persist and survive no matter how vast the evil grows around us. It is our privilege to take the blows without returning them in order to cherish and protect within ourselves the glowing spark of that most precious of ideas so it may have and keep at least these humble homes. quote and format by Raxin
Would you like to fix the world? It's very easy. We could do it tomorrow. All it takes is for everyone who cares to show up at the same time and state, "They've been ripping us off, and we're stopping it now.” It's as simple as that. However corrupt, no scam, no corporation, no institution, no law, no government, even no nation stands against sheer number. It's always been majority rule. Majority rule is a law of nature. It's only when the majority forgets to pay attention and lets the greedy minority do what their disease compels them to do that the world temporarily turns upside down. It’s as easy to right as paying attention.
My Last Loss I’m looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time. After a long life of accumulated regrets and losses, there’s one final loss waiting for me. It can’t be avoided, and I’ve had plenty of time to consider what must ultimately become of me. The worst torture of life might be the knowing that you’ll die. There’s one consolation. It will be my last loss.
It’s all out there. The truth of our history is waiting to be learned. The ways of the world are discoverable, but the problem is that each of us is born ignorant. We can only fight against the oppression we know, the oppression we can recognize. I keep aging, just as everyone does, and I keep learning additional snippets that give me a greater understanding of the invisible cage I live in. The more I learn, the more powerful I become and the closer I get to being able to break out. Unfortunately, as I age and become more knowledgeable, I age and get closer to death. A dead slave cannot fight to correct the system. We age. We learn. We become disgusted by the truth. We start to figure out how to fight back, but we die before we can do much of anything. The young behind us must go through the same learning period before they have a chance of fighting it. The power structure stays in place because it hides. It relies on the limited lifetimes of individual humans as a primary defense. It also continuously acts to restrict or remove information from the common culture that would reveal itself. How do we, the common people, fight such a system? We can fight it in two ways. First, we must ensure that the information about the true history of the oppression of the majority by the minority be freely available to all. Second, we must ensure that such information becomes and remains a primary part of the education of all new people. Then, even though we die, we can ensure the protection and freedom of the people who live after us.
