“You said you’d never break up with me!” she shouted accusingly at him, trying to save this, trying to save them, trying to hold on the one thing that kept the smile on her face.
“You told me, you promised!”
The tears were threatening to spill out of her eyes, and she wasn’t sure how long she could do this, pretend like she wasn’t dying inside now, watching him walk away.
“You said you’d never break my heart!”
He's already walking away, not even giving her a chance, not giving them a chance, not even wanting to salvage what they had. She's only got one more shot now, one more chance. She knows it's the wrong angle to hit at, but she just needs something to make him stop, something to let her explain why. She can't help it; she bursts out in one last desperate attempt.
“You said you’d never hurt me!”
She holds her breath as she sees him slowly turn around. Judgement time has come; this is it. This is what would make them or break them. There's a sick churning into her stomach that warns her she's not gonna want to hear this. That they're really over. That there's no going back now. This is it.
“I never thought you’d make me feel like this.”
