If you were mine, I'd make you so happy... But I can't try to be your 'perfect' anymore.

    Chapter 5- It'll Be Alright
The rest of the night was a complete disaster. The girls found an empty room upstairs to sleep in. They had to sleep on their bags, and layer up, but it was fine. Alex slept with them as well. The other guys remained downstairs, crashing on the couch. Their advisor had never showed up, which really surprised them. They didn't understand what was going on. And so far, things weren't looking up.
In the morning, Cole was woken by the sound of knocking at the door and the smell of freshly cooked bacon. He barely got up from the couch before he saw Lucy walking swiftly to the door with a spatula in her hand. Shaking his head, Cole decided not to stand up.
Opening the door, Lucy smiled. "Hello?" she greeted, tilting her head to the side.
    "Oh hello. I'm your class.."
"ADVISOR. Come in. Please. Now," she insisted, moving to the side. She hurried the middle-aged woman in. She looked a little younger than 40, definitely mid 30s though. She wasn't bad looking either; mildly attractive.
As the woman entered, Lucy went back to the kitchen. Cole had already gotten up from the couch and was trying to wake Tyler up. Unsuccessfully doing so, he walked toward the foyer, stopping dead in his tracks at the sight of the older woman standing before him. Suggestive thoughts ran through his mind. What he would give to be able to take a woman like that out. Even under her business looking outfit, he could tell she must've been a wildcat in bed.
Lucy returned, no spatula at hand now, and met in a triangle with Cole and the Advisor. Folding her arms, she gave him a redundant look, one from last night. Her first instinct was to slap him, but she excused herself to get the others before they had their meeting. Cole led the woman into the living room. The whole lot of 'kids' crowded into the open living space and sat where they could, the older woman making herself visible and heard.
"Okay, my name is Ms. Green..."
"Ms? Oh that interesting," Cole stated, his hand rubbing his chin. "Do you have a first name?"
"Lizzy," she stated, her face a tad confused. "Anyways... we have a problem I believe?" she asked, making sure her purpose for being there was valid.
"You have gorgeous eyes," Cole complimented. Lucy scoffed.
"Oh, why thank you," Lizzy flushed. She brushed hair behind her ear and smiled.
"OKAY. WE'RE HERE FOR A REASON. Us girls, and Alex, were roomed with jackasses," Lucy spoke up. Cole gave her a dirty look, and the advisor got herself together. She nodded and continued.
"Well, the reason we had to do this was because the capacity of our other dorm houses has been filled. So, unless you are looking to rush for a fraternity or a sorority, you are stuck here. And even if you rush, there are no guarantees. This is your house. And this is your new family. And you know what they say about family: you can't pick em'," she told them.
The room fell silent for the millionth time. Kim stood up, and clapped her hands together once. "Well this'll be fun!" she exclaimed. The room looked at her. Kenzie went to say something, but closed her mouth and shook her head. "I'm very sorry," Ms. Green replied. She stood and made her way to the door. Cole began to go after her, but he stopped and turned around. The reality of what just happened hit him.
Kim smiled again. "Awh guys, it'll be alright."

Chapter 2- Dorm House, Part 1
Lucy threw her duffel bag over her shoulder, pulling out a second one from the backseat of her mother's car. There was a long line of sorority houses and Dorm buildings within the small college community. Yet the place she'd be staying was just yards behind her. It was a rather large house, light blue panels covering it, white windows, and a dark brown roof. There wasn't much of a back yard. But the front yard reached out was covered in well kept grass. There were two cars in the driveway already. She wondered how many girls were assigned to live here. This wasn't a sorority, but it was the last campus house available.
"Oh this is the worst, honey. Look at this terrible place of living. I think there's plenty of room at home for you. Plus you know Ryan is planning on moving out soon..." Lucy's mother began.
"Mom, I'm staying here. I already told you I wanted to live on campus. It's just... easier," the blonde replied.
"Hmm I know. I'm just going to miss you so much. You're my little girl," Kathy continued. Kathy had always wanted more girls. But she never had a chance to have another baby. Yet, blessed with three boys, she got a girl to even things out. Now it'd be her and four men at home. Such a waste of good feminine touch.
The two women grabbed the remaining bags and headed toward the door. Lucy struggled to turn the knob, but when they finally succeeded, they set down the bags in the foyer. The house was covered in hardwood floors. There was solid color painted walls, and open doorways. It was clean and extremely elegant.
"This is gorgeous.." Lucy complimented, though she'd receive no thanks in the end. She continued to roam through the house, but stopped in the living area, catching the glimpse of a fiery red-haired girl, and a thin, dark haired boy. They were both standing in the middle of the room, and looking around. "Uh, hello..." the blonde greeted, her mother standing, arms crossed, next to her. The two people turned around and smiled.

    Chapter 1- Lucy
Lucy opened her acceptance letter about ten times, sealing it, and ripping it back open just for the satisfaction of knowing she was accepted. Opening it so many times didn't change the fact that she did, but the chilling sensation made her quiver, in a good way. "Johnny, I've looked at this thing a thousand times. It's beautiful." The blonde bit down on her lip and rolled onto her back. Her cell phone was practically taped to her ear.
"I'm so glad for you babe. But, maybe you should calm down. I mean, you know what happened with..."
"John. Why would you even bring that up? Do I bring up the fact that you weren't't there for me during that time? Huh?" she countered, becoming defensive. The other line got quiet. It took a few minutes for someone to actually make a noise and break the awkward silence. "Ehem. Johnny?" Lucy questioned, making sure he was still there.
"Yeah..?" he answered, a little hesitantly.
"I'm sorry. That was just a hard time for me, and you... you weren't there to make me feel better," she replied, in an apologetic tone. Her eyes lowered down to her stomach. She lay flat against her bed, the rusty springs disturbing her thoughts every time she moved. When she'd get a new bed, who knew?
"No it's fine, Luce. I... I'm sorry about what I did to you. You know I'd never pull anything like that ever again. You know that."
"I know John." There was a deep silence, and then multiple male voices could be heard in a panicy tone over the blonde's boyfriend's line. Lucy could barely get anything out before she heard vehicles pulling up frantically over the phone.
"Luce, I gotta go. I love you..." Johnny quickly stated. Lucy's lips parted to speak, but the line went dead. John.. she thought desperately. One horrible thing about having a boyfriend in the army: they're always in danger.
    ----------------------------
Lucy was at her dining room table. Her brother, Kevin entered, a smug smile on his face. "Yo sucka," he greeted, a sarcastic look about him. He slapped the table, causing his sister to jump a bit. "How's it feel? Being accepted to Rockford?" he asked, extremely happy for his sibbling. She was the second youngest, after Dean. Her head was dropped, eyes staring at her acceptance letter.
Kevin looked more closely. A single water drop stain held its place on the paper. Then another, and another after that. "Lucy.. what's.." he began asking, but was cut off when she looked up and she had dark, unappealing streaks running down her face. "Oh Luce," he realized, and sat down next to her. His arm wrapped tightly around his sister's shoulder. As she cried into his shirt, John was on the other side of the world, defending his country.

    .....
Six unfortunate souls got this letter one day. This seems like a good thing, right? Being accepted into a college should be a wonderful experience. Feeling like you're ontop of the world. But for these people, a dorm house brought them together. Some for the best, some for the worst. They only wanted to graduate, and acquire their dreams. It didn't work out that way.
Lucy Rollins- Blonde, 20 years old, main character. Lucy grew up in Ohio, living with her mom, dad, and three brothers, Ryan, Dean, and Kevin. When accepted to Rockford, Lucy decided to go for dance. She had hoped for Juilliard, but sadly, that ceased to happen. Her boyfriend is in the army, and stationed in Afgan.

She's single, and loves partying. Her parents died when she was younger, and she lived with her older brother and sister-in-law until accepted into her first choice college.
Kenzie Krupp- Brunette, 20 years old. Kenzie lived in florida most of her life until she moved to New York with her best friend the year she graduated from highschool. She had to reinvent herself after she went through a traumatic moment in her teenage life. She has a father, step mother, 2 step brothers, and two step sisters. She went to major in psychology.
Alex Rouin- Dark Hair, 19. Music major, plays guitar and bass. Insecure about his homosexuality, lived in Jersey for whole life. Was disowned by parents, and began living with his sister's roommates. Wants to be normal more than anything else in the world.

    Chapter 1 to come...

    Incoming Text Message!
Look, I just wanted to let you know, I called your dad. We talked for like an hour. And I came to the conclusion that I'm a bad guy. I don't have money to give you. I don't have a job to help put food on the table. Hell, I'm surprised I have a cell phone to be sending this text. But, if you trust me, I'll spend my life making you happy. So this is my way of asking if you'll marry me. Oh but if you hear a knock at your door, don't open it. That would mean I was there with the ring, ready to do it 'the right way'. Ttyl babe.
