Hey Beautiful!
This is my story account. If you want my regular quote account, go to the little search box and type 79callmemaybe,that's me!
Stories: I do take story requests or ideas. If you have a story genre or plot idea you think I'd be good at writing or would like to see, put it in my comments. I will consider using your idea but I may not.
Also, do not
steal my stories. Its really just pathetic to have to use someone else's ideas because you can't think of your own. I work hard on my stories, I don't want to see them taken away from me. Because there's always a possibility my stories and ideas will be taken, my Witty stories aren't my best work.
If you don't like my stories, don't read them..It's the very simple,
mature way to deal with your opinion.
Now that you've read all this, thank you. I hope you like my stories!

~Bridget

    A Life To Kill For
    Prologue
Eden Black had it all. Her barn style white house on the corner, clothes that everyone swooned over and copied, and an acne free, smooth skinned face with a matching naturally perfect toothed smile. In an extremely cliché case, Eden would be a witch on the inside and sweet doll on the outside. But in truth, she was just a normal person, genuinely nice.
Eden had so many friends—making and keeping people close was one of her talents—but her best friends, Geneva and Charlotte, were her closest.
Every year, Eden had an end of the school year party at her house. It always went perfectly every year...Except for the year of 2005 - the last party of her short yet perfect life, little did she know.
So this is my new story. I'm sorry the other new story just wasn't working, it wasn't going anywhere and I didn't like the characters. This story I already have planned out. In two weeks after camp I'll write the rest, thanks for your patience and kindness. It's a murder story,so if you like those well here you go.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 8
The next day I sit down next to Mary at lunch just like old times. Orchid glares at me as usual, but Mary looks relieved. "So are we friends again?" she asks.
"Again?" I repeat. "We were never friends before this. But no, we're not friends now either. I just thought about what you said and I wanted to tell you I'm not going to hold a grudge. But that doesn't mean I like you or want to be friends with you."
Orchid sneers, "Great speech, Cat. None of us like you or want to be friends with you either."
"Orch, shut up. Beat The Loser is over, it was stupid," Mary scolds.
"What is Beat The Loser, anyway?" I ask, curious.
Mary sighs. "It was just Orchid and I. We would befriend people we thought were...Losers...And then make them do stupid things, feel stupid in the end, and...I don't know. It was really dumb. But for some reason it felt fun at the time."
I nod. "Okay, well, just leave people alone," I say. "I'll try not to hate you, but it's gonna be hard."
Mary nods and I walk away.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 7
"Is there anything I can do to make you stop hating me?" she pleads. At least, that's what her mouth says. Her eyes are as devious and mean as always.
"No," I respond simply. It's better not to make things complicated or give long explanations. I will only answer what she asks.
"Why? I didn't know that your parents died, if I had-"
"Because you shouldn't have done it at all, regardless of my parents," I interrupt her. "Mary, you're saying that you wouldn't have regretted it if my parents were alive. And it's ridiculous that you'd say that because you shouldn't have done it at all."
She nods. "I know. But I feel even worse because of what I didn't know. Why didn't you tell me anyway, originally? When we first met?"
"You would have treated me differently, like I was a glass vase," I explain, shaking my head. "It would be hard to make real friends that way. Although, apparently with you, it's hard to make real friends anyway."
"I just want to be friends and for you to forgive me," she says helplessly. "And I really am sorry."
"Thanks for sharing," I say flatly, sarcastically. "But I don't want to be friends. I don't forgive you. For once, I'd like to get what I want with you." I walk out of the bathroom and unlike a few months ago, she doesn't stop me.
The next day, Mary keeps staring at me during class and then it's me pulling her into the bathroom at the end of the day.
"Would you stop looking at me all the time?" I snap. "It doesn't make me want to be your friend; it creeps me out. It makes me want to avoid you."
"You've become a rock," she answers.
Well, I wasn't expecting that. "What do you mean a rock?"
"Like me. You don't care about what you say or how it affects people, you just want to say it," she explains looking into my eyes. "I just wanted to let you know that sometimes, beneath the surface of a rock is a diamond. And you've seen it before, but you just have to crack the rock open to find it. I guess that's what I'm trying to do." She walks out of the bathroom and I'm left there with only my thoughts.
She's right. I don't care if my rejecting her friendship makes me sad or her sad. I just do it to protect myself. It's like I don't want anyone to find my inner diamond, even though if I do, I will be worth so much more. I will be benifited.
Mary has tried. She has tried to crack open the hard rock that conceals a diamond, but she wasn't strong enough.
Maybe I'm the only one who can really make that happen.

    Okay Readers!
Whoa that fade up there is really bad that's disappointing.
    Anyway,,,I'm going to have to...
Add 2 more chapters tonight. I know it's ridiculous to add 5 chapters in one day.
But tomorrow I'm really busy and won't be able to add more chapters. I go to camp for 2 weeks on Sunday and I'd like to finish the story by then. I'll hopefully find time to add a few more chapters on Saturday as well.
I know I'm going to lose faves because of this and yeahthatsucks but if you're a loyal reader I think you'll bear with me, okay?
    Alright thanks loveyou! :)

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 6
The next day is not as horrible as I think it will be. A few dirty looks from Orchid and sad "I'm sorry" looks from Mary and the day's over. Or so I thought.
I'm just walking out the door when Mary grabs my arm and pulls me into the girl's bathroom with her. "Catalina, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that your parents died. If I did, I wouldn't have done anything to you. I don't know why I did it anyway, it was so stupid and you're right about it being pathetic because it really is and - "
"Save it, Mary. I'm going home," I say. I start walking out of the bathroom, leaving Mary there. Then I turn around and add, "I don't need to deal with your bull sh/t right now."
"It's not bull sh/t!" Mary shouts, running after me. She grabs my arm to stop me again. "I thought over the whole Beat The Loser thing last night. It was so stupid. So stupid and pointless."
I nod. "Yep," I say. I pull away and run out the door.
I get a lot of texts from Mary that night. I'm really sorry and hope we can just start over, they say. And, please reply we need to talk.
I don't answer any of them.
Mary doesn't approach me or even look at me the next day or the next or the next. For weeks she does nothing.
And then it's March and she pulls me into the bathroom again after school.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 4
As the weeks go on, Mary and I start to get closer. She falls in love with Ann's apartment, gossips about her secret hatred for Orchid, and lets me borrow her clothes. I'm accepted into her popular clique as one of the leaders.
And my personality becomes a lot like Mary's, too. I use her fake smile without meaning to, I've stolen her annoyed tone, and her evil glare.
Mary and I push Orchid out of the group and into the bitter losers. She definitely deserves to be there.
"Hey, Catalina, can I talk to you?" Ann asks one morning in December as she makes omelets.
I roll my eyes, not because I'm annoyed, but because it now just feels good to do so. "Um, yeah, whatever," I say. I start taking the crust off my toast.
"Why are you so different?" she says, sitting next to me on the stools as usual.
"Different? In a good or bad way?" I ask.
"Well, bad. You've turned into a little teenage brat. I never expected it to happen to you...Is it maybe because of Mary..."
"Um,Mary has nothing to do with anything, Ann." I get up and throw away half of my omelet and the crust of my toast.
"All I'm saying is, ever since you started hanging out with her, you've been eating less, wearing less -"
"What do you mean wearing less?" I interrupt her.
"Well, what happened to jeans and a tee shirt? Now you're in skin tight skirts and lacy almost see through tops with matching lacy bras."
I shrug. "Really? I haven't noticed anything." I walk out the door to school without another word.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 3
I walk into the crowded cafeteria at lunch, scanning the place for an empty spot. It seems like every seat is taken—except the one right next to Mary. It must be some type of cruel poetic justice, I decide.
"Can I sit here?" I ask her, my voice shaking. "This is the only spot I can find. It’s just for today."
Mary flashes me her fake sweet smile, but Orchid glares at me. "Of course!" Mary exclaims. I see her elbow nudge Orchid and she’s smirking.
I let out a breath and sit down, unnoticed by the other girls at the table.
"So anyway," Orchid says. She doesn’t hide the annoyance in her voice. "Chris hasn’t asked me out yet. Cyan, you said he told you he’d ask me a week ago!"
The girl Orchid is looking at—Cyan—replies coolly, "Maybe he’s not interested. He really didn’t sound too into it when I asked him about you."
The whole table snickers except Orchid and I.
"What do you think, Cat?"Orchid turns and stares at me. "Why hasn’t he asked me out?"
"I don't even know him," I mumble. "But he’s not just going to ask you out because someone told him to. Not everyone is going to like you, maybe stop thinking they will and things will work out better!" I’m surprised again at the horrible tone of voice I use.
Everyone at the table laughs again. Still, Orchid and I are silent.
"Who do you think you are!" Orchid suddenly erupts, her dark face red.
"Oh, I’m Catalina," I say with a sweet smile. The same fake one Mary uses. "But to you, apparently, I’m Cat. Only been here a few hours and I’ve already got a nickname!"
"No, you know what I think you are?" Orchid asks. I can tell that no matter what I say, she’s still going to tell me. "I think you're a pigheaded b//tch."
Mary steps in. "Orchid, stop. We all tease each other, stop getting mad at just Catalina."
"Cat is not a part of we!" Orchid exclaims. "She's nothing to us!"
Mary rolls her eyes. "Calm down, Orchid," she orders, then turns to me. That fake smile is back. "I'm sorry, Orch's such a freak sometimes."
    I return the pretend grin.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 2
I walk into class with a smile plastered on my face. At my old school, I was easily popular because I was always friendly. I imagined it would be the same way here in New York City.
    "Hey, what're you smiling at?"
The words rip the goofy grin off my face. I turn to see a pretty girl with blonde hair, brown eyes, and an evil stare. "I'm just happy to be starting my first day, that's all," I tell her. I try to keep my voice sweet but it doesn't sound real.
The girl rolls her eyes but her face softens. "Well, I'm Mary," she says. "Sorry for being so tough on you, I thought you were this other girl. This loser." She rolls her eyes again.
"Oh...That's okay!" I almost shout it. It's not really okay, but I have the feeling Mary isn't the girl to mess with. "I'm Catalina."
"And I'm Orchid," a girl says, sitting on the desk next to Mary's chair. "Why are we introducing ourselves? Or have we never met? Sorry, I always lose track of the people I've seen and haven't seen."
"Catalina's new. She was just about to tell me how she ended up here, weren't you, Cat?" Mary asks.
No, you weren't, I think. But I say, "Uh, yeah. My...Adopted...Mother and I just moved here. I mean, Ann - my adoptive mom - used to live here, so she wanted to come back." It's kind of the truth.
"Wow, how interesting," Orchid says with a scoff.
"Shut up, Orchid," scolds Mary. Then she turns to me. "What happened to your real mom, if you don't mind?"
I fight back tears. "She, um, she...She gave me up," I tell her.
"I can't imagine why!" Mary says sweetly. Or maybe she's not so sweet. Either way, I'm completely done talking to her. She and Orchid are obviously the popular girls thinking they're cooler than everyone in the world. They're making fun of me and treating me like an alien or something.
"Yeah, okay," I mumble, looking straight into her eyes. There's a dark tone in my voice that I didn't even think I had.
The girls roll their eyes at the same time and I grimace.
Well, isn't the city life going well so far?

Yeeeahhh...Okay well I'll write more soon and it'll get better soon.

    Beat The Loser
    Chapter 1
It's two months later, and Ann and I have become close. By now, she felt like an aunt or a cousin or...Family.
"Catalina?" Ann's soft voice echoes through my small room in her apartment. "I'm just waking you up early because I want you to get used to it for school, since you're starting tomorrow."
I sit up in bed and smile at her. I thank her and start stretching and getting ready for the day when she leaves. I walk into the kitchen and sit at the counter, my feet dangling over the ground.
"You like your eggs medium, right?" Ann asks.
I nod. Ann makes eggs once a week, always on Sundays. She makes a different food for breakfast every day, but each day has an assigned food. I like it that way. Variey, but I always know what's coming.
Ann plops next to me, sliding my eggs and orange juice over. Breakfast is different with beverages: orange juice, smoothies, and milk alternate every day. "So," she said happily, pausing to take a bite of over easy eggs. "Are you excited for school? Nervous?"
"Both," I reply. "But I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm just getting myself too worried about it, even though it's just school."
"I just hope people don't treat you differently because of...You know," Ann says, looking concerned. "Unless you don't want to tell anyone. I have to tell your teachers, but I can ensure that no students find out, if you'd like."
I don't want to make Ann do anything unnecessary, but having other kids know about my parents was a little unsettling. "That would be great. If you can," I answer.
We eat in silence for the rest of the meal until Ann goes to her home office and I go to my room to instant message my best friend from my old town, Lana.
But my stomach is still full of butterflies, and my mind on school and getting by in a new place.

    Beat The Loser
    Prologue
I used to have it all - the perfect life, the perfect family, the perfect house, perfect, perfect, perfect. It only took one second for it all to be gone.
I'm not going to make what happened a mystery; my parents were going on a date for their anniversary, I was left home alone. A guy who was higher than Mount Everest thought it would be a great idea to drive, and well, you know the rest. My parents both died that horrible night.
Neither of my parents had siblings. All my grandparents died. No relatives. But the police found the plans my parents had for if they unexpectedly died. I would live with my Mom's best friend, Ann.
"Have you ever met Ann?" Officer David Davis asked me at the police station, where I'd spent the night in an office. Ann was coming to pick me up soon.
"Yes, a few times," I replied, my voice choked. "But my parents and her liked to do things together alone. I never went."
Officer Davis nodded. "So did anyone tell you where Ann lives?"
I realized no one had and shook my head, a tear rolling down my cheek.
"New York City!" he exclaimed, trying to make it sound great. "Right between Times Square and Central Park. Beautiful places!"
I used to watch the news a lot. There had been a lot of murders in the city, I knew. "Is it...Safe?" I asked. I didn't bother trying to hide the worry in my voice.
Officer Davis nodded vigorously. "Very. Times Square is mostly filled with clueless tourists," he informed me. "People are everywhere, twenty four-seven. And it's a wealthy area to live. You're going to have a pretty great life, Catalina."
I nodded. My life didn't feel great right now.
A few minutes later, Ann came to the police station to pick me up. Her eyes were red, like she had been crying the whole way here. She'd just lost her best friend, and I'd just lost my mom.
Now I was going from a small town near Albany to The City That Never Sleeps.
