PRETTY. ODD.
CHAPTER 2
"Okay, guys..."
We all sat in Jon's living room, staring at one another.
"We need to write a new record." I suggested.
"Yeah." Jon agreed.
"Anyone got any ideas?" Ryan shrugged. Both Spencer and Jon shook their heads.
"I think we should stay with the whole Pretty. Odd style. I like this music." Croaked Ryan.
"Nah, to be honest, I think we should move on from that. We should change, every time we bring out a new album. We changed from what we were like in the Fever era to this, so why not change again?" I leaned back on my chair.
"Bren, I don't know.. I don't want to change. I think it's best if we stay as we are." Ryan sighed.
"I agree with Ry." Jon blurted. Everyone just looked at him. "What? I do."
"Spenc, what do you think?" I turned to face Spencer, who'd fallen asleep. Jon nudged him.
"Spencer... Speeeencer.. SPENCER." He laughed.
Spencer woke up immediately.
"You fell asleep, dude." Ryan raised an eyebrow.
"We were asking you about your opinion.. Do you think we should stay the way we are just now, with the Pretty. Odd style, or should we change?" I walked over and slouched in the chair beside him.
"I.." Spencer had his "thinking face" on. "I think it'd be a good idea if we changed."
"I told you," I turned to Ryan and winked. He smiled, then he got serious again.
"Brenny, I just think.. We should stay the same. It's enough we've changed once."
"Come on, Ry. I want change, so does Spencer!"
"But Jon doesn't."
I looked at Jon and he just sat there.
"I don't know what to say or do. I think we should change." Spencer crossed his legs and sat right up.
"But I don't want to. I want a band where we can stay the same." Ryan went to sit next to Jon.
"Go do that then." I heard Spencer mutter. I know everyone heard it, but we all took it as a joke.
"Spencer's right, you know.." Jon uttered.
We all looked in amazement.
"Maybe.. Maybe we should go our separate ways. We'll probably never agree on changing or not changing. Maybe Ryan and I should do what we feel is best, and you guys do what you think's best." He raised his eyebrows and his shoulders.
"I suppose you're right.." I hated to admit it, but Jon was right. It maybe was time we split.
"I don't want this to happen, though." Ryan got involved again.
"None of us do, Ry." Spencer sighed.
"Maybe it's for the best, though." I stated.
"I don't know, man." Spencer looked down at the floor. He seemed pretty upset by this. We all did, but we all knew deep down it was what was best, and it was what was probably going to happen.
