A Summer's Worth
As the scorching Miami ray's baked my pale skin to a nice gold color, the plane rolled up in the airport. My brain was overflowing with exciting ideas I was going to experience this summer.
As we unloaded & stepped off the plane, I could taste the dryness in the air. We took a taxi to my Aunt Flora's house, since that's where we're staying. "Kate! You've arrived safely with the kids!" Aunt Flora exclaimed with her arms wide open.My sister Hadley glared at tme with confusion. As the creeky porch steps bounced, Aunt Flora brought out her thirst quenching lemonade.Soon enough, a girl with long flowy chocolate hair dark auburn eyes flung open the screen door. "Oh,Athena!" uncle Rob cried from a distance."Who is this?!" she muttered, probably reffering to Sadie & I. "That's Sadie & Blair, darling." Aunt Flora snapped.I quietly sipped the last few drops of lemonade. "Athena, why don't you bring our guests up to your room?Blair, you & Athena will be sharing her room, and Sadie, you'll be sharing with your mom." Flora expalined. "Oh great." I thought. "I'm sharing a room with a family member I don't even know." Athena's room was in the shades of Pink & Purple."Aren't you going to unpack?" she questioned, staring at my bulky black suitcases. I knodded.After I finished packing, I looked around for Athena, and she was propped up at her vanity, straighting her hair."Um, Athena? I have some jet lag, do you mind if I rest?" I asked? She shook her head in the response to no. I quickly comforted my self at the bottom trundle of Athena's bed. ♥
