   So today at school,
   We had a drug enforcement officer come and talk to us. I swear, I almost cried. First, he told us about a fellow officer who died investigating a meth operation. His story? The head drug dealer knew they were being trailed, so they captured the man and tortured him for three days. They would torture him to the point of death, then heal him and hurt him again. On the third day, they killed him. This man was the inspiration for Red Ribbon Week - look it up.
   Next we were told the story of a 20 year old woman with a serious addiction. She was past taking the pills. She was past snorting them. She was to the point where she would crush them, stir them into water, and then inject the drug-infused liquid into herself. And do you want to know how many milligrams there was in one serving? 540 milligrams. The perscription for that certain drug was 30 milligrams. 540 milligrams is enough to kill a horse. And the worst part? She took three injections a day.
   My stomach is churning while I type this. I feel sick, and like I'm about to cry. I'm not doing this for faves. I'm doing it to send a message. I may not know you, but I don't want you to be one of those people who kneels over dead from an overdose.
   I'm also telling you this for a pledge. I took a pledge, there and then, that I would not be one of those people. I would not succumb to temptation. I'm not going to smoke, drink, get high, any of it. And God will be my witness.

   Anybody heard of the song 'Gangnam Style?' If you haven't, look it up. It's some Korean rapping video with pelvic thrusts and crazy dancing - plus it's our band's theme song. If you haven't seen it, you haven't lived.

   Please tell me if seems screwed up to you too:
   There was a boy. He was a player. I had honestly thought he changed. (Spoiler! He didn't.) So, it was 11-11-11, the big night of dreams and wishes. We were texting like all those usual love-struck young idiots. He had been romancing me all night, telling me I was beautiful, had such a pretty smile, the normal compliments you get from a guy. So, come 11:11pm, we tell eachother our wishes. I say the end of hunger. (Dorky, right?) Well, my dear sweet lover says he wishes he could be with me right then - and I melt like putty in his hands. But who could blame me? This tall, dark and handsome athlete was actually dating me? Me. The short, pale band geek. It seemed like one of those fairy tales, where the dashing prince sees the perfection in a run-down little girl. Long story short, I end up asking him why he even liked me. Wanna know what he said? 'To tell the truth, Alex, I don't even like you.' That, my friend, is what society is these days: lies. And the worst part? I cried.
