    Chapter 4
My alarm went off at 5:45 in the morning. I woke up with a slight headache.
I did my morning routine and chose a yellow top, skinny jeans, a charm bracelet, and some studs.

I ran downstairs just in time to give my dad a hug before he left. “Have a good day, Al,” he said, kissing me on the cheek.
“Thanks dad, you too!” After I ate breakfast, I grabbed me yellow flats and my backpack and headed out the door to go to the bus stop.
Just as the bust arrived, I got a text message from Renee.
Meet us in the cafeteria. (:
I replied telling her I would. Ten minutes later, I arrived at school and headed towards the cafeteria. I saw Renee, Megan, Laura, Rachel, Luke, and Aaron.
They waved towards me to come over there. “Hi guys,” I said shyly.
Renee was the first to speak. “So, we were wondering if you wanted to come to the beach with us after school. We’ll pick you up at 5.”
I wasn’t sure if my parents would let me, but I agreed.
“Yay, great! Five it is!” she exclaimed. I looked over at Aaron and noticed he was smiling at me.
    I blushed and looked away.
When the bell rang, we all went out separate ways. When school was over, I quickly gathered my things and went outside to get on the bus.
As soon as I walked in through the front door, I called my mom. “In here, Alison!” she replied.
I went upstairs and found her on the computer in the office. “Hi, sweetie. How was school today?” she asked.
“It was good. So mom, uh, I have a question.”
She didn’t say anything so I took it as a sign to continue.
“Well, uh, Renee and her friends invited me to go to the beach with them later on today. I was wondering if I could go,” I said nervously.
She turned around and looked at me. “Honey, I don’t know. You just met them yesterday.”
“Mom, I promise I’ll be ok. They’re really nice. I won’t do anything stupid,” I sighed.
She smiled. “Oh, alright. But remember be a follower of God, not a follower of others.” I nodded and went to my room.
I called Renee and told her the news. “Yay! I’ll see you soon,” she said in excitement, then hung up.
I couldn’t help but smile. Maybe moving here wasn’t so bad after all.

    Chapter 3
School was finally over. I waited outside for my mom to pick me up. I waited outside for my mom to pick me up.
I waved as I saw the group from lunch pass by. Aaron started walking towards me.
“Good first day?” he asked, standing beside me. I nodded.
There was a long pause before he broke the silence. “You don’t talk much do you?” I couldn’t help but laugh. “Guess so.”
Another silence. I saw my mom and pointed towards her. “There’s my ride.” I waved goodbye.
“Will I see you tomorrow?” he asked. I smiled, “Well, obviously.”
I got in the car and put my backpack in the back seat. I kissed my mom on the cheek as she drove off. “Who was that?” she asked.
I looked outside to see Aaron get on his bus. “Oh, just some guy I met,” I smiled.
“What’s his name?” she questioned again. “Aaron,” I sighed.
She smiled. “Did you make any other friends?”
I nodded. “My first one there was Renee.”
“I’m glad to hear that. I hope to meet her someday. What does she look like?”
I started describing Renee, and everyone else I met. In the meantime, we arrived home.
I entered the house to the smell of vanilla candles.
I searched the house for our dog pepper. “Pepper, where are you?” I yelled.
As soon as he heard me, he came running down the stairs. I let him outside on his leash. I turned around to see my little brother, Joey, walk in through the front door.
    “How was school?” I asked.
    He sighed. “Really boring.”
    “Did you make any friends?”
“Yeah, I guess so. His name is Peter. He’s pretty boss,” he replied.
I laughed and went up to my room. I went on my computer and checked my email. I got an email from Ariel, my best friend from Washington. It said:
    Dear Al,
I miss you so so much! Washington is so boring without you. Everyone from school and church misses you, especially Tanner. I was talking to my mom and she said that I can visit you next weekend! Tell your mom to call mine to they can work things out. Well email me back(:
    Love you,
    Ariel
I smiled. Tanner’s my all-time crush, and he misses me. Just before we moved, he told me he loved me and then kissed me. I guess you can say we have a “thing.”
I emailed her back, telling her I miss her too, to tell Tanner that I cannot wait to see him again, and that my mom will call her mom.
After I sent it, I went to eat dinner. I told my mom about Ariel and she agreed to call her mom. After dinner, I took a long, hot shower and changed into my pijamas.
I went downstairs and sat on the couch. Joey came and sat next to me. My mother and father sat on the opposite couch, my father holding his Bible in his hands.
We read from Luke and from Proverbs. We each prayed and then went to bed. I tucked Joey in and gave him a kiss on the forehead. I went under my covers and closed my eyes. I almost fell asleep when my phone lit up. It was a text message from Tanner.
    Good night, Alison:)
I couldn’t help but smile. I was confused, though. I like Tanner, a lot, but ever since me and Aaron shook hands, he was the only thing on my mind.
God, I’m very confused. I love Tanner, so why do I keep thinking about Aaron? Help me, please.
I closed my eyes and fell asleep in no time.

    Chapter 2
I would’ve never guessed the school had three floors. After what seemed like forever, I finally told Renee I need to find room 27.
“I have that class, too!” she exclaimed.
She grabbed my hand as we ran to History. We entered the class and sat down next to each other. I noticed everyone was looking at us.
“Why is everyone staring?” I managed to say. She smiled.
“Because you’re the new girl, duh!” The bell rang and the teacher walked in.
“Hello, class. I’m Mrs. Bernard,” she said. She turned around and wrote her name on the board. She looked around the room and stopped when she saw me. My stomach felt queasy.
“It looks like we have a new student,” she proclaimed. She took a piece of paper off her desk and read it. “Alison Thomas, may you please stand up?”
I gulped down my fear and stood up. “Hi,” I saw weakly and waved. I quickly sat down. Some guys kept looking at me. Lord, please make it an easy day.
The rest of the day was the same. I stood up and introduced myself in every class.
Lunch finally came around and Renee invited me to join her table. I sat down as all eyes shifted to me.
“Guys, this is Alison. She’s new here,” Renee told them.
A girl with long black hair extended her hand and said, “Hey, I’m Julie.” I shook her hand.
I looked at the group. There was one guy that caught my attention. When we locked eyes, he did the same thing Julie did. He extended his hand and introduced himself.
“I’m Aaron.” He smiled, showing his perfect, straight teeth. He had hazel eyes with dark brown hair falling just a hint over is eyebrows. I couldn’t help but smile back.
Everyone else introduced themselves; Taylor, Megan, Ryan, Cassandra, Laura, Jason, Luke, and Rachel. We then exchanged numbers.
“You have a lot of friends,” I whispered to Renee. She giggled and lightly elbowed me.
After lunch I went to my locker to get my books. On my way there, I saw Aaron.
He gave me a smile and a wave. I smiled and kept walking. I blushed, but why?
I quickly gathered my books and went to class.
    Author's Note:
Still a little slow but it'll speed up. Thanks:)

    Chapter 1
I woke up to the blinding light coming from my window. I could already smell the bacon my mother was cooking for me. We had just moved here, California, a month ago.
Today was the day I started my sophomore year at this school. I got up and skimmed through my closet. I decided to wear something decent. I chose a cream top with dark blue skinny jeans.
    http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=41098907
I applied light makeup and some lip-gloss. I ran downstairs to see what else my mother made for me.
    “Good Morning, Alison!” she said.
“Hi mom,” I replied. I looked at the kitchen table and saw eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage and orange juice.
“Looks good,” I smiled. I ate breakfast, grabbed my backpack, and put my flip-flops on. I looked at the time and read 6:32. Perfect timing, my bus came at 6:35.
Right before I left, my mom offered to drive me to school. I took the offer and climbed into her car. As we arrive at school, she said,
“Don’t be nervous, honey. God will protect you and be with you every step of the way. I love you, Al.” I smiled and thanked her.
“I love you too, mom.” I got out of the car and entered the building.
I searched my backpack for my schedule. I took it out and look at my first hour. History, room 27. Great, I hated History. I started looking for room 27, when I accidentally bumped into a girl.
“Oh gosh! I’m so sorry,” I said nervously.
The girl looked at me then at my schedule. “I’ve never seen you around before. Are you new here?” she smiled.
I couldn’t help but notice her perfect pearly whites. She had light blonde hair with piercing blue eyes. She was super tan and had barely any makeup on. She was the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. I nodded and smiled shyly.
“Cool! My name is Renee. What’s yours?” She extended her had, waiting for me to shake it.
I looked at her, then shook her hand. “I’m Alison. Sorry for bumping into you,” I look down.
She chuckled. “Don’t worry about it. C’mon, let me show you around.”
