Chapter 4
My alarm went off at 5:45 in the morning. I woke up with a slight headache.
I did my morning routine and chose a yellow top, skinny jeans, a charm bracelet, and some studs.

I ran downstairs just in time to give my dad a hug before he left. “Have a good day, Al,” he said, kissing me on the cheek.
“Thanks dad, you too!” After I ate breakfast, I grabbed me yellow flats and my backpack and headed out the door to go to the bus stop.
Just as the bust arrived, I got a text message from Renee.
Meet us in the cafeteria. (:
I replied telling her I would. Ten minutes later, I arrived at school and headed towards the cafeteria. I saw Renee, Megan, Laura, Rachel, Luke, and Aaron.
They waved towards me to come over there. “Hi guys,” I said shyly.
Renee was the first to speak. “So, we were wondering if you wanted to come to the beach with us after school. We’ll pick you up at 5.”
I wasn’t sure if my parents would let me, but I agreed.
“Yay, great! Five it is!” she exclaimed. I looked over at Aaron and noticed he was smiling at me.
I blushed and looked away.
When the bell rang, we all went out separate ways. When school was over, I quickly gathered my things and went outside to get on the bus.
As soon as I walked in through the front door, I called my mom. “In here, Alison!” she replied.
I went upstairs and found her on the computer in the office. “Hi, sweetie. How was school today?” she asked.
“It was good. So mom, uh, I have a question.”
She didn’t say anything so I took it as a sign to continue.
“Well, uh, Renee and her friends invited me to go to the beach with them later on today. I was wondering if I could go,” I said nervously.
She turned around and looked at me. “Honey, I don’t know. You just met them yesterday.”
“Mom, I promise I’ll be ok. They’re really nice. I won’t do anything stupid,” I sighed.
She smiled. “Oh, alright. But remember be a follower of God, not a follower of others.” I nodded and went to my room.
I called Renee and told her the news. “Yay! I’ll see you soon,” she said in excitement, then hung up.
I couldn’t help but smile. Maybe moving here wasn’t so bad after all.
