I honestly have no idea if they'll ever address the idea of Gay marriage. Maybe one day a pope will, but since it's against the religion in some ways, it may take years. It's hard enough to convince people who aren't religious to allow gay marriage. Hopefully one day everyone will accept people and just let them love one another, but that may be centuries away. It's sad, but it's true.

I hope the best for the new pope.. (lol, that rhymes) because from what I've heard, most people don't like the job. The previous pope is said to have never wanted to be the pope because you basically get completely secluded from your family and friends. No, I'm not religious, so, Witty, don't tell me i just don't "understand". But my religious views don't change the fact that it's a sad life as the pope.

Why do some religious people have to be douches and disrespect those who don't believe in god? It's something that happens from both sides. (not calling you one, just saying that both sides do the same exact thing)

It's mostly because of their clashing believes. People of religion mostly think that their religion is correct. Ex: there is a god. He created us. And then when you look at it from and Atheists point of view, they usually see no sense in it. It's like still believe in Santa or the Tooth Fairy to them. So since some people believe there is a God, they think it's disrespectful that people don't give him credit for what he has done for us. Atheists usually see it as some kids stuck in Santa stage. Either way, people think their way is correct, so it smashes together and toes are stepped on

That's true, but, that isn't the point. The point is that someone feels the need to push their views on another (and I have seen very fundamental Christians do this as well, so do not think I am biased) and does it with the utmost disrespect, as seen by OmgzMichaelFTW.

They feel the need to do that so everyone is on the same page as them and isn't mislead. For example, a lot of atheists think it's a waste of time to worship someone who doesn't exist, while Christians think it should be a top priority. It's a clashing of opinions, and his comment shouldn't be taken too seriously. He didn't exactly push his views onto anyone. It's not like he said "You should be an atheist" he said that he was one, and basically meant he couldn't care less of what happens with the pope, because it doesn't effect him. Oh, and I didn't mean to make it look like you were biased, I was just saying that it's because of controversy that these arguments and disrespectful comments appear everywhere.

To be honest I don't think there is a big deal in getting a new pope, people treat those guys as if they are God themselves, it sickens me. I tell you if Jesus was here, he would not have approved this.

First of all, I would like to say I'm sorry for offending you, But hear me out first, You say that Pope is highest on the earth. Lets see what the word of God says about this "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." -Galatians 3:28, this quote means that everyone is equal, Which means the pope is no better than us! What I mean is in Jesus's eyes you are just as high as the pope,. You and the catholic church call the pope "father", you know what Jesus has to say to that? "And call none your father upon earth: for one is your father, who is in heaven"- (MATTHEW 23:9) The pope is also called the "Head of the Church", what does the Bible say about this? "...Christ is the head of the church. He is the saviour of the body"-(EPHESIANS 5:23. A body cannot have two heads! nor can a Church! Listen Cammie, The Bible also says "'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God." -Levititcus 26:1, What this means is Don't worship anyone other than me, for I am the only God, Do not put up sacred pictures or statues. These are the kind of things we see in a Catholic Church. Cammie there is a lot of evidence in the Bible that the Pope is false. Jesus him self says this "Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves"-Mathew 7:15,I know what you must be thinking as you read this, You are angry at me because I insulted the Pope, the man you believe is so "high", At the same time you are confused because I provided quotes from the Bible, and the Bible is the true word of God. Here is my advice to you, do not make your decision by listeing to the Pope, or in that case me. But instead you read the Bible, so that you can see for your self, which is right.

First off, the Pope isn't worshiped, he is respected. The Pope is here CHOSEN BY GOD to guide us on Earth because Jesus isn't in his human form to do so. Tens of thousands of people were in Italy to see him so, people do agree with me. The Pope is suppose to be an inspiration. He is the highest in the church. Okay? I doubt you're a Catholic, so I don't think you're ridiculous response matter; which didn't affect me at all - Cammie

No, I am currently not Catholic, however I was raised Catholic so I know what happens in the Church. You may be worshiping him without even knowing so, the Dictionary definition of worship is to honor someone, to love someone, to give them all due respect. Also when I responded to you, I provided much evidence from the BIBLE, which proves about the Pope being false, and you my dear didn't provide 1 single quote from the Bible to prove your point. What I am trying to say is, no matter which type of Catholic/Christian you are, the BIBLE is the holy book written by God himself, I understand why you wouldn't agree with me, You have been raised Catholic, and you were taught to never test your belief. But the BIBLE says this, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" 1 John 4:1, You say that the Pope is chosen by God, how do you know? Did God tell you so? The Pope is selected by The College of Cardinals basically they elect the new pope. The college of Cardinals are not God. Also you say Jesus isn't in this earth so he isn't able to guide us, well lets look at what Jesus himself has to say to that, " And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."-Matthew 28:20 Jesus said that he is with us, ALWAYS! Sure maybe not in human form, but by his holy spirit he is with us. He speaks to us, he guides us, and helps us and if you haven't heard from him, than that means you are doing something wrong. You don't believe me? Look at this "For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. " -Job 33:14, Please Cammie, do not harden your heart, open it up to what you read and consider that you may be wrong. Let me ask you this, Have you ever had something bad happen and you prayed to God, but got no response? Look at what the Holy Book of God says "We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will." John 9:31, One more thing, you said Tens of thousands of people were in italy to see him, well guess what Millions of Muslims visit Faisal Mosque each year. So does this mean their belief is right? No. Cammie please do not consider my words to be harsh or judgemental. I am not judging you at all! I only wrote you this because I love you, since you are a child of God. I want you to do what is right in God's eyes. Not in you parents eyes, or in that matter yours. My last words to you is this, READ THE BIBLE!! it is the only way you could know what the truth is. You said that the Pope is supposed to guide you, well guess what The Pope has probably memorized the BIBLE, so why won't you read it?

What I said before HE IS NOT WORSHIP. HE IS RESPECTED. I go to a Catholic school so I have read bible passages many times. Can I ask you.. Why you gave up in faith? The definition of the Pope is head of the Roman Cathoic Church. And there is 1.2 billion Catholics. Look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA3WUgFhcXQ Look at all the people there, shouting his name, blessing him, and crying for him. Since we aren't worshiping the Pope, there is no one higher than god.

You said that you read BIBLE passages, but yet you haven't mentioned one sentence of the BIBLE instead you attempted to show me evidence through You Tube. There are also 1.5 Billion Muslims, does this mean they are right? Also the video just showed people cheering for him. May I ask why? What has he ever done to help people? In the video I saw him kissing the cloth, why? It is simply a cloth, nothing more. Also the man next to him said "the holy father Francis" and let me tell you this, no one on this planet is holy, and no one will ever be. Also Jesus said" call no one father, for your father is in heaven".

I'm showing you real life edvinence. I didn't google Bible versus like you did. They cheered for them because they have HOPE for him. Have many times do I have to say we respect them. I can't take this, you can't accept my religion and I should just block you. You're ridicolous. You didn't make me change my mind, you just made dislike you..

There needs to be an American Pope. But i dont think that the Cathoilic Church is ready for the whole idea of "HEY GUYS! LET'S LET G.AY PEOPLE GET MARRIED!!!!" lets face it, the new pope is what, 76? he will be the Pope for maybe 5-10 years. then we will have to go through this whole thing again. Hopefully some pope will adress the issue of gay marrage in the Church.
