The Hope
Chapter 1
The corridor seemed eery. There was an odd feeling in my stomach as I tried to keep my head high.
A few sniggers escaped their mouths as I walked past. Did I truly look that horrible? I ran my fingers through my hair, feeling for the frizz I may have missed.
None, my hair straightner had once again succeded. I looked at my uniform, then at the other girls. I wasn't missing anything, I didn't think I looked nerdy at all. Then I saw that girl, the girl I'd seen the day I came for the interview.
She had blonde hair, with perfect loose curls covering her shoulders. Her eyes were bright blue and her eyebrows were perfectly arched as she looked me up and down. Her friends or side kicks were giggling as she said something with a smirk. The girl next to her with honey gold hair which was in a messy bun gave me a soft smile.
I smiled back shyly. Not sure if it was a joke or not.
But then the others caught me, making an L shape with their fingers.
I shuffled off in a hurry, looking for a bathroom.
When I found when I bolted towards the door. But someone was standing in my way.
"Hey! Your the new girl here, aye?" he said, smiling.
I nodded, looking at the door anxiously.
"They were right, you are cute." he added.
Cute. Right.
"Who said that?" I asked, looking into his gray eyes.
He smiled, his eyes shining as he did so.
"So she does speak." He laughed.
I shot him an angry look. Glancing anxiously at the bathroom door again.
"You don't need to pee, so I'm not moving." he stated, smirking slightly.
I sighed, how did he know?
"Your stupid mind reading." I muttered darkly.
He laughed again, but then his eyes widened as he looked behind me.
I turned around to see what was happening.
The blond girl was there, her eyebrows digging together in fury.
"Toby!" she yelped, pushing past me to stand next to him.
"Hey Stacy." he said dully.
"I see you've met my boyfriend new girl!" she said unkindly, wrapping her arm around his waist.
My eyes widened, looking at her arm.
He seemed to tense as she squeezed him, looking at him like he was a god.
"Oh! Didn't Toby tell you about us!" she said in a fake cheery voice. Her eyes darkened as she came up beside me, unravelling herself from him.
"He's mine." she snapped "don't you dare try any tricks you understand? Don't talk to him or even smile at him without my permission, get it dweeb?"
I looked at Toby and sighed.
Stacy then grabbed my wrist, her fake nails digging into my skin "Get it?" she repeated.
I shuddered and nodded stupidly. Walking off and not looking back.
