Passion
"Jess! JESS!" I heard a voice shout.
"Hmph" I groaned.
"Jess don't make me tickle you."
Immediately, I sat up, still rubbing my eyes.
"I'm up!" I exclaimed.
"That's better."
I looked Iain in the eyes.
"Why did you wake me up?" I snapped.
Iain quickly pecked me on the cheek before sitting up straight again.
"I made you something. While you were sleeping."
He gave me an "I'm proud of myself" look.
I peered behind his back and noticed a piece of paper he was holding.
"Is that a painting?" Iain nodded once.
He handed over the paper.
It was stunning.
Truly stunning.
I have never seen something like this.
The edges of the paper were filled with rose petals.
All hand painted. But these petals were unlike anything I had ever seen before.
They were so delicate looking, that you could notice every stroke of the brush used to paint every one of them.
Then, just to enhance them, each petal was lined with gold.
This seemed to solidify the image in the middle of the painting.
It was me.
My face looked so glorious yet tinged with red, as if I had sprouted from the smoked edges of the rose petal frame.
I looked like a dream, blurred the slightest bit as if to say that I was a fantasy.
Something too good to be real.
The painting was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Well second if compared to Iain.
I gasped in delight.
How could I possibly be able relay to him how much I loved my painting?
"Iain...this is so...I don't even know if any word in the English language could do this painting justice.
I love it!
Love isn't even a strong enough word.
This is astounding!
How come you never told me you were artistic?
When did you even start making this?
This must have taken forever!"
Words were flowing out of me while I stared at my painting
. My beautiful, beautiful painting.
One beautiful just wasn't enough.
"It didn't take that long.
Just this morning.
I didn't know I was artistic.
I never really payed enough attention to notice.
So you like it, huh?" Iain's lips curved in a seductive smile.
He leaned in involuntarily, prisoner to his boy hormones.
I rolled my eyes figuring that Iain would use this as a sexual advantage.
"No. I love it.
Didn't we have school today?" I asked.
My eyes flickered to the bed side alarm clock.
4:30pm.
Iain's focus faltered for a moment.
"Decided we skip school today.
You looked so cute while sleeping...well as cute as someone could get if they're drooling."
I smiled embarrassed.
"Oh shut up." I smacked his bare chest
. He had boxers on with paint stains on them.
His body had paint smudges as well.
I was stark naked on the other hand.
Realizing this, I grabbed the closest part of the comforter and pulled it to cover me.
"What? Oh. You know you don't have to cover up around me?
Besides I like looking at you naked.
It's like seeing you in your purest form.
It's enchanting." he spoke soothingly
. "Aww.
That's a sweet way of saying you're a perv that likes to look at naked little kids."
I tried being playful to get the subject away from seeing me naked.
He laughed then rolled his eyes.
