Someone Like You
Chapter 9
Steam curled and twisted above our heads, over the shower screens. Our foreheads pressed together, noses against each other. Lips lingering for a kiss. His large, strong hands massaged soap down my back, down along my spine. My hands tangled in his shampooed brown hair. He leaned in for a soft, gentle kiss. Our tongues connected, dancing together in a ballroom of heat and desire. I pulled away, looking into his eyes, so blue, hypnotizing. My face reflected in his eager, confused eyes.
"We better get ready" I whispered, brushing past him to the glass door, leaving him standing in the middle of the shower cubicle, water running down his glorious body and into the drain. He turned, watching my behind, as i grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body.

We walked along the path, hand in hand, smelling like my raspberry scented soap, green leaves, pale pink delicate blossom floating down in the glowing sunlight. I decided to dress like me, not the "player me", the real me. I was in a soft, creamy lace dress and sandals. I guess I was going for a romantic outfit... As we strolled down the path, toward a sparkling pond, golden in the sunlight, I saw Drew, in the corner of my eye. Carter was already ahead of me, his soft, friendly expression, ripping into a face of anger, eyes narrowed, brows furrowed, lips tight. Drew merely smiled cheekily, and dared to wave.
"Hey Tiff! Hi Carter!"
I was completely confused, the last time I saw him was at the party, and he was angry at me. I was playing him, why was he suddenly so...happy? This could work I guess. This could work to my advantage. I smiled at him, deciding to act innocent, as if I didn't see him at the party last night.
Carter glanced at me, smiling. His face dropped, "Do you still feel for Drew?" he asked, his voice quiet, broken, soft. I could feel my insides curl, my heartbeat thumping, faster. I closed my eyes and turned toward the pond bathing in golden sunlight. "No" I turned back towards Carter, knowing Drew wa watching the whole thing unravel itself.
I cupped Carter's face with my hands, gently, pulling his face down. His eyes watching mine, hope. There was hope in his eyes. I kissed him, softly, passionately, our lips joining together, my tongue running along his bottom lip, his on my top lip. His hands around my wasit, pulling me closer, so that I was pressed against him. My hands still cupping his face, running my fingers along his jaw line.
I peeked under my eyelashes at Drew, he was watching, his face scrunched in anger, hands balling into fists. Then his eyes met mine. I smiled, still kissing Carter, and winked at Drew. His face began to relax, his hands uncurling. He took his phone out and pointed at me. He was going to text me. I turned back to kissing Carter, his hands now running up my thighs. Our breathing faster and rugged. He opened his eyes and pressed his forehead against mine. "I love you" He whispered against my lips. I smiled and kissed his lips. He pulled away and put his arm around my waist.
