Push Through
Chap 1
Walking into school on that dreadful day after the accident. My hood up, music blasted, head down. Needing to block out the crowd, walk in silence, walk alone. Heck, I always walk alone, I'm a lone wolf, that's what i do. Me, walking down the hallway dressed in black, my band t-shirt like my flag of pride. My once-white Converse now covered in song lyrics writing in black sharpie. I stick out like a sore thumb, even more now that the accident happened and I have this huge gash on my forehead covered in a bandage.
As I walk slowly to my first period class, my only friend, Ty, tapped on my shoulder. I stopped in my tracks, pulled my headphone out and looked at him. He gathered me up in a hug and I almost broke down.
"It's okay, Lucie. It'll be okay." he said,as he stroked my hair.
I buried my head into his chest and cried all my pain away. He stood there in the middle of a crowded hallway, holding me as I cried my eyeliner and mascara blackened tears into his red sweatshirt.
After a few minutes, I lifted my head, wiped my eyes with my sweatshirt sleave and looked at him. He looked at me with sympathetic eyes, and like a good best friend, reached into his back pocket and offered me a tissue. He pushed my naturally black hair back behind my ears. He was the only one who didn't rlly notice my random blond streak in it, he didn't care, I looked the same to him.
"Jimmy was a good guy. You guys were perfect for eachother. I'm sorry for your loss, Lucie. he was a good kid." Ty said.
I wiped my eyes again with the tissue.
"He saved my life,Ty. When the car lost control he covered me from the blow. He died to save my life. He died for me." I said.
I nodded my thanks to Ty and headed to my class with my music blasting in my ears and images of the accident flashing through my mind. The tears fell and there was no stop to them.
"Jimmy, I miss you." I whispered to myself.
