Secrets Prologue
''I'll miss you Adam...'' Ember whispered, her voice tickling my ear.
I hugged her tight, unwanting to let her go.
''You know I don't want to leave'' I said to her.
''I know, and I don't want you to, but this is for the best'' she gives my hand a last squeeze.
''You take care of your older brother now, Cass'' she smiles to my younger sister.
Cassandra hugs Ember. ''I will miss you Ember!'' she squeals.
I say my last goodbyes to Ember, Katie, Cherry, Gerard and Jesse.
Tears roll down my cheeks, and Jesse brofists me.
''Dude, are you crying?'' Jesse asks.
''Naw man, It's hay fever'' I say my voice crackling.
I get into the car and wave goodbye.
Cass jumps up and down beside me as my mom and dad drive.
I'll miss you, Newark, but I'll be back.
The thing I worry the most is what lies ahead of me in Dallas...
