[On My Own]
"How does this always happen to you?" My friend Andrew asked, as I Tripped over my own shoe laces.
I laughed along with him and kept on going. They're always late. ALWAYS.
I looked around, hoping to see our other friends, but they never showed up.
"Let's just go to the park, Luke's probably scaring children again." I smiled, and shoved him.
The park wasn't very far from there, so we walked slowly. "You excited?" I nodded. "I cant wait, Andrew, you know I've always wanted this." He nodded, and laughed. "There they are."
And there were our friends, all sprawled about on the feild. Luke, Sarah, Jared, and Kara.
"Hi!" They all screamed, not even moving. "Lazy bums!" I laughed, laying back.
"Who's got the money?" They asked, then all bursting out laughing and smiling at me.
I always paid for our food, I was the only one with money all the time.
"I'll be back." I got up, and got each of us a drink, and food.
"You always know what to get us!" Said Luke, face full of burritos.
We talked, and talked, until it was time for me to get home. "Dad?"
I walked into the livingroom and smiled to see my Father and mother watching a movie together, like they always do. "I'm going to my room." They nodded, and went back to their movie.
"Danny!" I yelled, tripping on my brother's sweater. "Sorry!" He yelled back.
The rest of the night, I sat there, planning my life on my own, it seemed perfect.

The next few days I went to stores, looking for something for my sister, Jess.
"A necklace?" I heard from behind me, a new voice. "It's for my sister." I snapped, turning.
"It's all good miss, I was just curious. Why a necklace though?" I smiled.
"It's her birthday, well, our borthday, and she's wanted this for a year now.
He smiles at me, and it made me smile in return. "What was your name again?" He asked.
"It's Frailey, and I never said it." He sighed. "We met about 4 days ago."
I looked around. "Really? Where?" And I tried remembering what I had done four days before.
"At the shack?" The shack was where everyone ate their food, and hung around. "Yes!"
I laughed. "You're the chef there, right?" He looked down. "I cook, but I'm not the chef, just a chef.
We talked for a bit, and then, all of a sudden. "PICK UP THE PHOOOOONE FRAILEY!"
My ringtone. "Sorry, Just a minute. "Yes?" My brother was on the other end.
"Come home now, Trev's home!" I smiled, and quickly paid my necklace, and ran off. "I'll see you another time!" I yelled to him.
"Trev?!" I ran in excitedly, looking around at everyone, with tears in their eyes. "What?"
"Sweetie..." I looked at my big brother Trevor, whom had just come home from the army.
"You alright big bro?" He shook his head. "Afraid not." I looked around, tears flowing from everyone in the room. "It's Phil.." I could feel the tears sweltering in my eyes. "What happened to him?"
They all looked at me, and then an urn that lay on the coffee table.
I could feel myself begin to pour tears, and throat closing up.
My brother's best friend had passed. My brother's best friend, who just so happened to be mine as well. His family were all gone, we took him in a few years back, he left with my brother, promising me he'd return with him, and come home to me. I secretly loved him.
Everyone knew, everyone besides him, and now he never would.
