Friend me
Chapter 1.
Everywhere, and everything is the same to me. Same schedule, same people, same life. It gets boring after awhile, nothing changes. I go to school with only 100 people, and everyone in my class has been here since kindergarten. I make no new friends, I have no new classes, and I have never had a boyfriend. But that’s beside the problem, I just want something new.
“Jess! You goin’ to basketball?” Says my best friend Kenzie.
Of course I am. Its 4:00. I always have basketball after school, and I always will.
“Yeah, on my way” I say.
If it were up to me, I wouldn’t play basketball, but I have very controlling parents and since my dad played college basketball, and my older brother, Sam, is playing, I have to be like them, also. So as you can imagine, the only thing we talk about at home is basketball, which is always the same!
“Alright ladies, we’re going to do a 3-man weave, with chest passes, and then do a lay-up at the end,” Screams coach Ed.
Our coach is the definition of strict. He can get pretty crazy during games. He is an Ex-NBA coach, so he treats us like we’re 25 year old men. The thing I like about Ed, that everyone hates, is that he doesn’t take no for an answer. He builds up our confidence, and when someone tells us we can’t, we just work harder. That’s the reason we are going to the national championship this winter. Ed is like the dad I never had.
“Stop being lazy girls! My dead mother can do better than this crap! GO GO GO”
“Can we have a water break…like…now?!” asks Zoe.
Zoe is the star point guard that everyone hates. She thinks that she controls the team because her rich dad donates like 500 dollars every year for uniforms.
“We can have a water break, once you do the drill right!”
Everyone is dripping with sweat, their faces bright red. We’ve been doing the same drill for an hour and 30 minutes straight, without water. Jasmine had to sit out because her asthma started to kick in. Lucky.
Basketball ends at 7. Ed held us an extra hour because we didn’t do the drill perfectly. The parents complained as usual, Ed said if you want your daughter to be good, then you are going to have to sacrifice, they’re scared of him so they say fine.
I have 2 hours of homework now. Math, History, Science, and French. No surprise. My teachers give out the same homework everyday. Math is do a lesson in the book, History is take notes from our textbook, Science is write about the experiments we did in class, and French is conjugate the verbs.
I shower and get into my pajamas. I look in the mirror and see my long straight brown hair, blue eyes, and smudged makeup. I have an hourglass shaped body, which comes in handy for basketball, actually. I never really cared about how I looked, but my friends always pressured me into wearing make up, straightening my hair, and wearing push-up bras, but it really was never my style.
I manage to get to bed at 10. Most girls are up till midnight on Twitter, or Facebook or whatever the websites are called, but my mom is over protective and won’t let me have my own computer. I wish I did though; I get made fun of all the time for not being up to date on all the new statuses, and pictures or whatever.
Its a boring intro but I promise it gets a lot better! Fav if you like please :)
