Secrets
Chapter 2
Part 3
I followed Jake towards a now empty parking lot with only one
"vehicle" parked right in the center. The
motorcycle was made for only one person with no helmets, and no
seatbelt from what I saw. "Absolutely not".
I turned to begin the walk home when a hand grabbed my
wrist and pulled me back to that warm comforting chest.
"Oh come on, live a little,” he laughed causing
my head to vibrate against his chest. "Sorry, but
I'd rather not die at seventeen" untangling
myself from his hold, and crossing my arms over my chest.
The rain continued to pour looking like it was going to
lighten up anytime soon. "You'll be find, I
promise," he said pushing his lip out in a puppy dog way.
I eyed the motorcycle suspiciously, and sighed giving in,
my body aching. I wanted to be able to get home before my
father so I could shower and feed Amy. I climbed on after
him, and tightly wrapped my arms around his waist, laying my head
on his back as he pushed the gas and turned onto the road towards
my house.
Jake's P.O.V.
Her arms tightened around my chest as I pushed the accelerator.
My heart quickened and I was tempted just to take the long
way to keep her arms around me longer. God, stop
it Jake I thought to myself. There was no way I would
go for a girl like Jaime. I reached her street remembering
the beatup house that I had once made fun of as a kid. I
realized she had falling asleep when she didn't move after I
had pulled to a stop. I grabbed her wrist to untangle
them from around my waist when I noticed something on her arms.
I turned around slowly, careful not to wake her, and rolled
her sleeve up revealing bruises all over my arm. I
felt my anger rising as I saw yellow bruises that looked old and
new bruises that looked like they were caused yesterday.
I remembered my mom telling me what happened to
Jaime’s mother but I never thought it was this bad. I
hadn't realized I had drifted into my own thoughts,
until I felt Jaime break from my arms and frantically pull down
her sleeve to cover the bruises once again. "Thanks
for the ride" she said her voice barely above a whisper
before she bolted towards the front of her house leaving me
standing there alone and confused.
Jaime's P.O.V.
I awoke with a start feeling the chill from the air creep up my
back. I blinked open my eyes to find Jake holding my hands
and looking at my wrists that were now exposed to him.
I snatched my hands away and pulled down the sleeves as
quick as could. My heart was racing, panic feeling my
body as I scrambled off his bike. "Thanks for the
ride" I whispered afraid that if I had said it louder, my
voice would begin to shake. I ran towards my house leaving
him sitting in the driveway with a blank expression on his face.
As I closed the door, I slid down the cool wall till I butt
reached the floor. I didn't remeber I was holding my
breath till I let out a sigh, and gathered my head into my
hands.
He knew my secret.
A/N: Yes, it's short and yes
it's a little rusty. Due to the length requirements on
witty, I've had to break up the chapters into multiple parts.
If this story is liked, I am planning on moving the story
to an account on a seperate website and lengthening and editing
the chapters. A lot of you have been asking how old the
characters are, so Jaime is in her senior year of high school and
is seventeen. Again, thanks for all your support and make
sure to follow and like the story.
