Secrets
Chapter 2
Part.2
Stacy spoke up first ordering a small casear salad without
dressing. "How original" I thought
to myself.
I took the rest of there orders, and laughed at the irony when
Jake ordered a chocolate shake, my favorite.
Once there orders were ready, I walked over to there table
thanking god that the night was almost over. Amy had
already left,
her shift ending an hour before mine. Just as I was about
to reach their table, I saw out of the corner of my eye
Stacy's foot
stick out and send me sailing to the floor. My tray left my
hands sending the chili Andre ordered
landing all over the table in front of me. As I was about
to hit the floor, I felt two arms wrap around me and hoist me
back onto my feet.
I didn't get the chance to look at who had caught me before
my boss stormed outside heading towards me, anger evident on his
face.
The table covered in chili had already complained to my boss
claiming that I had done it on purpose. "Mr. James,
I..I can explain." my words came out in stutters as I
struggled to find the right words. "You're
fired." his spoke, his voice devoid of any emotion.
No explanation, no remorse, no nothing. I could see
the smirk plastered on Stacy's face and I clenched my fist
trying to control the anger that was already bubbling on the
surface.
"I need this job, sir...please!" I begged as I
felt tears spring to my eyes. The town was small as it is,
and trying to find another job
would be close to impossible. I had promished my sister we
would be out of the house by the end of next month,
but without my job I couldn't keep that promise.
"I can't have an employee like you in my cafe, I
have standards, now get out!"
he said his voice rising. I broke away from the arms around
me and ran out of the cafe tears streaking down my face.
I was met outside with heavy rain, and I couldn't
control the sobs coming from my lips. I had worked so long,
so hard to be free of the
beating, the hurt. I couldn't imagine the look on
Ally's face when I told her we couldn't leave.
I hadn't realized I had fallen to the ground, as anxiety
filled me. I didn't remember the last time I had a
panic attack, but as my heart quickened and I felt my breaths
shorten, the old feeling I once had felt new again. I heard
footsteps behind me and arms bring me to there chest as they
tightened around me. I clutched onto the person in front of
me and sobbed the anger, and hurt I had endured for so many
years.
I don't know how long we stood there, but when my eyes grew
dry as my tears ran out, I untangled myself from their grasp and
looked up to see Jake standing in front of me. "I need
to go" I whispered my voice hoarse from my crying.
"Let me give you a ride at least" he said, his
voice quiet.
"Okay." I sighed feeling the fatigue as my
adrenaline left my body, and followed him to his car.
A/N: I know it's short but it's hard to stay under
the limit on witty. The story will be a little rough in the
beginning,
as I still need to intorduce characters and lay down the general
plot.
I have some things planned for this story, so please bear with me
because once this story picks up, it will get much
better.
