things your
ballet teacher hasn't told
you
1. she wants ALL her students to succeed. she
doesn't "absolutely hate" you, or anyone.
2. she doesn't have a final say in casting, but she does try
hard.
3. the greatest gift you can give her is a sincere thank you.
4. students being sore means she's done her job right.
5. she was once a student, too, and despite contrary belief, she
also makes mistakes.
6. hours of thought go into planning every single class.
7. few things are more gratifying than a student having an
"aha" moment.
8. favorite students aren't the ones with the better body or
have been there longer. they are the ones who work hard and
remember corrections.
9. a ballet education is more than just steps. when she shares
her life experiences, know this is teaching too.
10. she wants you to ask her for advice.
11. a teacher's biggest fear is failing, causing a student to
fall out of love with dance.
