Chapter
2:
I shot up
out of my bed. It was only 6:45 a.m. in the morning, but I
didn't care. I grabbed my clothes and flew into the shower. I
jumped out and got dressed. I pounded on my Parents door.
"Get up!" I yelled running into the kitchen. I grabbed
myself some poptarts and grabbed my cellphone. My Mom quickly
followed after me. We hopped into the car and drove to the
hospital. I dashed in and asked if Carter Bolton was in. "No
Ma'am. He might be up in therapy though." I thanked her
and ran to therapy. I asked there and they said Rebecca Bolton
was room 212. I nodded and made my way to room 212. As I walked
in, Rebecca was sitting staring blankly at the wall.
"Rebecca?" I said. I walked in looking around I
did not see Carter. "Rebecca. Where is Carter?" I ask
firmly. "He is in surgery. This is the last try
Madison." She said holding my hand. My head fell, I looked
at my feet. "Does he have a positive chance of living?"
I asked. She shook her haed no. "Every time they take him
out, It just gets worse." She gloomily. She turned her head
toward me and was about to say something but a Doctor walked in.
"Rebecca. It's Carter. His hea-" He paused and
looked at me. "You must be Maddie he keeps talking
about." He said. "Yeah." I said. "Well..Are
you up to hearing some bad news?" He said. "Yes."
I said unsure of why I even said that. "Carter's heart
is failing. It's not pumping enough blood to keep him alive.
He's dead...I'm sorry to say." My eyes blanked out,
I let go of Rebecca's hand and cried. I ran out stumbling
about. I ran out to the car and cried. Mom and I pulled out, and
drove off to home. At night I was in my bed, trying not to cry. I
couldn't stand it I packed my backpack and ran off into the
woods. Far away, from the world...
