Prologue
I looked into his deep brown eyes
as I saw him sitting there alone. I tried to see what he was
looking at, but I couldn't tell. He was staring right in my
direction. I saw him smile. It was a cute smile. It seemed
genuine. I looked at his eyes again, only to realize it
wasn't me he was looking at. He was looking at her: her. as
in my best friend. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
My name's Amber. I have deep brown eyes, and matching hair.
People say I'm pretty, I just never believe it. Yet, I'll
accept the compliment with a smile and compliment the person
back. I'm one of those girls though. The type that hates
burning bridges. The type of girl who cares too much. I have a
lot of friends though, probably because I always forgive.
Anyways, where was I? oh yeah, well Julia Kakmen was one of my
best friends. I've known her forever, so that's one of
the reasons. We also have a lot in common. She's that one
friend that I could always mess around with. Except, when it came
to competition? She always won. mostly with guys. Not very many
girls like her, and if they do? It's because they know
she's friends with me. Every girl thinks she's a flirt.
Now, I would never ever think about saying something like that
about one of my best friends... well that was until this past
year.
