I
overlook, city lights
illuminating the midnight sky
with brightness and
enchantment. People wading
through the filled streets
resembles a school of fish
swimming deep along the coral
reefs. They hurry along not
to get eaten by a shark or in
this case hurt by others.
They’re colors ever in
which way on the
sidewalks.
I
glance upward toward the
midnight sky filled with the
clocks. I can’t help
but think that somewhere up
there my clock is ticking
away. My wheels with the
others keeping all mankind
alive. It seems weird to
think that any moment my
clock can stop or a plane can
destroy millions at once
erasing all human. But
aircraft hasn’t been
flown since Dr. Ray Jeversen
discovered our lives depend
on those.
A car pulls up behind
me, and I turn to be greeted
by Amy, my future wife-to-be.
Her smile stretches wide, and
her raspberry smelling hair
dyed chocolate sits on her
shoulders gently barely
moving as she turns. I
remember when I first met her
at the local bar on 54th
street. Oh, was it love at
first sight. Her hair then
was dyed an auburn, and her
shampoo was tropical escape.
Her eyes never change the
dark, mystical bluish
green.

I think I would read it. It's intriguing, and very nice use of descriptive language. One of my friends has written a few stories, but then loses her notebook or interest. Is this set in the future? Is the main character a boy or a girl? 0reply
