i'm puzzled why people always say mermaids are fabulous and fantastic
did you not know that - although perhaps you were taught different as a little girl with ariel and all - in folklore they had really enchanting and beautiful sounding voices that lured ship captains, his shipmates, and basically the ship itself to the pointy jagged rocks where they basically crashed and drowned to death?

apparently for mermaids to be real and survive
they would have to have thick blubbery skin like an elephant
they would have to be very wide and fat
they would have to be bald too
