Chapter 5

It was Friday, and I still hadn't found a way to go to the party tonight. I throw on a pink t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and my choclate brown boots. I check my hair in the mirror, curled today, grab my stuff and head out the front door.
"Arianna, wait!"
"Yeah, mom?"
"I just wanted to remind you that you're babysitting tonight."
"I know mom. I gotta go, bye!"
"Okay, bye sweetie!"
I run outside and jump in Ben's car.
"Hey babe."
"Hi Ben."
"What took you so long in there?"
"My mom had to remi-" I remember that I never told him about me having to babysit.
"Your mom had to remind you of what?"
I guess I had to tell him now. "I'm supposed to babysit tonight."
"But, the party-"
I interupted him. "I know. She told me I had to babysit before I told her about the party, and she wouldn't let me get out of it."
"There has to be some way to get you to that party."
"I haven't thought of any."
"Well, are you're parents going to be out really late, or like, how long."
"Probably pretty late. They're going out to dinner with their friends, then to a bar."
"You're parents have friends?"
I laughed. "Apparently."
"Well, just leave right after you're brothers go to bed. Get them to go to bed early, like seven."
I gave him an are-you-serious look. "I'll be lucky if I can get them in bed by midnight."
"There has to be some way. Get someone else to babysit."
"You don't think I've though of that? Everyone's busy. I can't go to the party." We pulled into the school parking lot. Ben looked upset. I felt horrible.
"Fine. But you have to tell the girls."
Oh, how fun. "That's fine Ben. I'll see you at lunch. I'm so sorry."
"It's fine. I can't stay mad at you, just look at that face!"
I shake my head. "You really need to stop lying. You could go to Hell for that."
"Not if I'm telling the truth."
"Whatever. See you at lunch."
"Love you," he says and give me a quick peck on the lips.
I blush. "I love you too. See you at lunch."
"Bye."

Such a boring chapter after such a long wait. I'll have another one up soon though, guys, I promise. Again, I'm so sorry about how long I took.
