Chapter
fourteen.
"Did you hear
me?" Ethan asked. I didn't respond, i just sat there.
Totally emotionless.. And then came out a little snicker.
Ethan's face turned. His face turned in confusion.
"What's so funny?" He asked. I snickered louder,
and then stopped and looked at him. "I heard you." I
said, "But if this relationship is over," I said,
"Then so are we." Ethan sighed, "What's that
supposed to mean?" He asked. "They're won't
be any 'bestfriends' or 'friends' if were
done." I said. He groaned, "Don't be like
this.." He mumbled. I stood up, "Don't be like
this?" I asked. "How the hell can't i?!" I
exclaimed. "We were together for what? A couple days and
then you break it off? What? Did you lie to me when you said
you loved me?" I asked. He sighed, and pulled my hand,
making me sit back down. He looked at me, "I love you. I
really do. With all my heart." He started, "But you
need to tell me if we're going to work. And if you wanna go
on with this." I swallowed hard, trying to unravel the
tight knot in my throat, holding back tears. I nodded, "I
love you too, and i reallly wanna go on with this.." I
said quietly. He nodded, "Good to know." He kissed my
nose. I gave him a half-hearted smile. I wasn't sure what
would happen in the future, i was just focusing on the present
for now..
"Bye daddy." I said, and gave him a big hug. I pulled
back and looked at him, "Are you staying at our house
tonight?" I asked. He shook his head, "I'm
staying at the hotel again." He said. I nodded, "Are
Joey & Ryan?" I asked. He shrugged, "If they want
to," He said, looking down at them. Joey smiled,
"Will Ethan stay over?" She asked. I giggled and
nodded, "Yes, Joe." I said. She smiled, "Then
i'll go home!" Everyone laughed. My dad, handed me
over Ryan, who was wrapped in a blanket, sleeping. I smiled
softly down at him, and then hugged my dad once again, then
waited for Ethan and Joey to say goodbye, before we left the
Hospital and piled into Ethan's car, then drove back to my
house. "Can we play monopoly when we get home?" Joey
asked. I smiled, and looked over at Ethan, "If Ethan wants
too." I said. Ethan kept his eyes on the road, and smiled,
"I love monopoly!" Joey smiled, "Yay!" I
laughed, and waited for the car to come to a complete stop, and
then got out, and unstrapped Ryan from his carseat, and held
him, as he still slept, then followed Ethan and Joey into the
house. I walked up to Ryan's room, and lay him down in his
blue decorated crib, and placed his bear blue blanket over him,
and turned on his soft playing musical bear, then smiled and
touched his cheek softly, watching him sleep for a second,
until i heard Joey called my name. I walked out of the room,
with the baby monitor in my hand, and closed the door, leaving
a little crack open, "Coming!" I said, and walked
down the stairs to see they already had it set up.
"C'mon," Ethan said, "You're holding up
time!" He joked. I giggled, and sat next to him,
cross-legged, "Aww," I said, "You picked the
Iron! I wanted to be the Iron!" I said to Joey with a
giggle. She smirked, "Whatever, just be the ship!"
She said with a giggle, "Now lets go!"
"Wow Joey," Ethan said, "You're good at
monopoly." I smiled at Ethan. I knew he let her win. Ethan
was boss as monopoly, he beat everyone. Always! Joey smiled
brightly and proudly, "I enjoy winning." She said,
and then stood up, "Can we watch a movie?" She asked,
walking over to the movie shelf. I smiled, "Sure," I
said, "You two pick one and i'm going to go check on
Ryan." I said, and walked up the stairs and into his room,
quietly opening the door. I looked over in his crib, to see him
still sleeping, just in a different position. I smiled, and
then went back down the stairs. "What movie did you
pick?" I asked, and sat next to Joey, as she sat inbetween
us. "Finding Nemo!" She said, clapping her hands,
giggling. I laughed, "Oooh," I said, "I love
this movie!" Joey smiled, and pulled the blanket over all
of us, "Who doesn't?" She joked.
"Nobody." Ethan asnwered. I giggled, "Okay guys,
lets watch the movie." I said, and turned my head towards
the screen, watching the beginning of 'Finding Nemo',
actually enjoying myself. About halfway through, just when Dory
and Nemo were getting directions to Sydney, i glanced down at
Joey, and noticed she was sleeping on Ethan. I looked over at
Ethan, who was watching the movie, perfectly content. I smiled,
"She's asleep." I whispered to him. He looked
down at Joey, and then up at me, "Want me to put her in
her bed?" He asked. I nodded, and unwrapped my arm, from
around Joey carfully. I stood up, and stretched my legs, then
helped Ethan, pick up Joey, and then walked behind him as
he walked to her room. He placed her in her Princess bed, and
pulled the covers over her, then turned on her nightlight, and
put her teddy bear by her side, then left the room, closing the
door quietly. I sighed, and then walked over to Ryan's
room, and checked on him one last time, before going into my
room with Ethan. I wiped my forehead, "Whatta day." I
said, and fell onto my bed. Ethan chuckled, and pulled a pair
of boxers, and a pair of sweatpants, "Can i shower?"
He asked. I shrugged, "Yeah, just be quick though. I need
to, too!" I said with a giggle. He smiled, and pecked my
lips before walking into the bathroom, closing the door behind
him..
