Chapter
one.
"Ethan, don't you
da-!" Before i knew it, my face was smotherled with
Chocolate icing. I gasped, and opened my eyes, not being able to
see very well through my chocolate covered eyes. I glared at my
best guy friend, Ethan Myers. He was practically rolling on the
floor with laughfter. I took a handful of chocolate icing, and if
i could've i would've slapped it all over his face,
but my mom walked in. "Don't even think about it Lucy
Anne." Ethan pointed at me, and laughed silently.
I glared at him more. "Is Ethan staying for dinner?" My
mom asked, putting on her oven mits and apron. I shrugged,
"I don't know, are you Ethan?" I asked, washing off
the chocolate icing off my face. "Depends," She said,
looking over my moms shoulder, "Watcha having?" My mom
smiled, "Steak, nooodles, and mashed potatoes!" Ethan
grinned, "Then i'm staying." My mom laughed,
"I see you guys made desert?" Ethan smiled and nodded,
"Yeah, we did." He said then looked at me, "Lucy
got a lil' messy though, she's such a klutz." He
joked, smirking at me. I wiped my face with a towel, and faked an
obvious fake laugh towards him. He smiled at me, "Luc, are
we meeting up with Tyler and Jenny?" He asked me.
"Oh!" I said, "Mom, can we meet up with Tyler and
Jenny now?" I asked. My mom shrugged, "Go for it,
but be back before dark."
I walked into my room, and sat at my make-up table. I applied a
little bit of eyeliner, and alot of mascara, making my eyes pop
out. I brushed a litle bit of blush on my cheek bones, and put a
layer of lip gloss, making my lips not only smell like
cherry's, but look sexy too. I got up, and walked to my
closet. I picked out a pink,yellow, & blue tye dye crop top,
and pink skinny jeans. I braided my hair up, and then slipped on
my ballet loafers, and then walked out my door.
"Took ya long enough." Ethan joked, standing up from
the stool in my kitchen. I smiled and shrugged, "I like to
look good. And if you haven't noticed i'm a girl."
Ethan rolled his eyes, "Lets go!" I giggled, and pecked
my moms cheek, "Bye mama." I said, and then left with
Ethan. We got into his Chevy, and we drove off to the local park
where Tyler, Jenna and probably alot more people were at.
"Lucy!" Jenna exclaimed, and ran to me, and jumped on
me. Luckily for her, i caught her, and she wrapped her legs
around my hips and her arms around my neck, and gave me a big
hug. I hugged her back, "Jenna!" I exclaimed. I
haven't seen Jenna since a couple months ago. Me and her have
been bestfriends since we were 7, but still, me and Ethan have
been since we were born. Ever since, we've had our birthday
parties on the same day, since our birthdays were only two days
apart. I dropped Jenna, and she landed on her feet, she pulled me
by my arm towards the other teenagers in a group.
"C'mon, Luce!" I giggled and let her drag me over,
when she came to a stop, i stopped. In the group there was people
i knew from school, and some i didn't know, and some that
were old friends. And then i saw Ricky, he was my ex boyfriend.
We dated all through 9th grade, and into 10th, and then at the
end of 11th, we broke up because he cheated on me with
Joesephine, who was also here, clinging by his side like a
magnet. I stood inbetween Ethan and Jenna, and hugged everyone i
knew, except for Jesephine and Ricky, i pretended like they
weren't there. Plus, i didn't even wanna look at
Joesephine because she looked like she just got back from working
the streets. "Lucy, you look so pretty!" One of my
friends from school, Ali said bubbly. I smiled, "Thanks you
do too!" Even though she really didn't, she looked like
she had just gotten out of bed, Which she probably did since all
she does is sleep. But i had to be nice to her, it was
Ethan's girlfriend. He looked at me, he knew when i was
lying. I looked away from him, and hugged one of my other good
friends, Amy. She looked nice, she always looked nice. Her family
was almost as rich as mine. Only a little less. My Mom was her
mom's lawyer for when her parents got divorced when we were
little, and ever since we were bestfriends.
After we all greeted eachother, we walked over to the playground.
I sat on a bench, watching as Ali swung on the swings, and Ethan
pushed her, and i watched as Joesephine and Ricky made out under
the slide. I was so hung up on them. They were all over
eachother. They were like how me and Ricky were. But i wasn't
letting myself get all mad about it, im over him, i told myself.
"Hey," I heard someone say. I looked towards where the
voice was coming from, i saw Hunter. "Hey Hunt." I said
with a smile. He sat next to me, "Hows your summer?" He
asked. I giggled, "I've been spending it with Ethan. And
all he has talked about was Ali." I said, looking at Hunter.
He chuckled, "He does that to me too," He said,
"But he talks about you more." I smiled and laughed,
"Really? All he talks about is Ali this, and Ali that."
I said, "But i mean, he does love her, so i don't really
mind." Hunter smiled, "You've gotten more beautiful
since the last time i saw you." He said cheesily. I giggled
and rolled my eyes, "Thanks Hunter." Hunter Maxwell has
been hung up on me since the 6th grade. He was really cute, but i
never really thought of him as anything other than a guy
friend.
