We pulled into an empty parking lot, in front of a building that appeared to be falling apart. I saw a large bird, probably a hawk, circling above us. The thick heavy blanket of grey clouds covered the sky, a light rain sprinking down. "Get your sh.t, I'll go sign you in" my mom stepped out of the car and inside. I pushed open the creaky car door and stepped out dragging my suitcases out and slamming it shut. I felt like crying. I push through the door and I hear my mom saying "Yes, oh I would love to keep her but she gets so angry and just loses herself. That's why she has to be in a room alone, I'm afraid she might get too angry and...hurt someone" her voice quivered as if she was going to cry. She was a damn good actress. "Um, where's my room?" I played along as if I knew I had been coming here. It was a surprise to me; but anything to get away from that hell of a house. a short, plump lady stood up and pursed her lips. "Follow me" she said in a quick voice. We headed down a long hallway; all doors shut and voices hushed. We got to the very end of the hallway, and she pushed open a white door with a lock on the outside instead of the inside. All the doors were like that. She motioned for me to enter, and I did as I was told. I set my luggage next to the door and looked around. Not much in it, a poorly built wooden chair sitting in front of a window, a white metal bed with a white blanket and a white pillow on it, and an old trunk at the foot of the bed. I sighed and the lady slammed the door shut, locking it with a click. I was trapped in a place even worse than hell, whether I realized it yet or not.
