“Hey mom?”
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“Could I change my hair?”
“Why would you want to do that? Your hair is
beautiful.”
“I just want it to be a little more like me.”
“Did you know the Fall Ball is this Friday?”
“Mom, don’t change the subject, and yes, I’m not
going.”
“I’ll tell you what. I will bring you to get your hair
done however you like on Saturday, IF you go to the Fall
Ball?”
“But, mom!”
“Sweetie, it’s not too much to ask. You need to be more
social and more like a teenage girl.”
“Fine, but I don’t want to get all fancy.”
“Ava, the Fall Ball is fancy. After I finish the dishes I
will bring you to a dress shop to get you a pretty and girly
looking dress.”
“Fine.”
I stomp off to my room. At least I can get the hair I want but that
means I have to go to the stupid Fall Ball, where all the kids I
hate will be. I decide to call Vanessa because if I have to go then
I’m dragging her along. “Hey Vanessa, its
Ava.”
“I know it’s you, you’re the only one that ever
calls me.”
“Well, my mom is making me go to the stupid Fall Ball, so
will you please come with me and keep me
company…?”
“I would Ava, but my family cant afford to buy me a dress for
it.”
“Maybe my mom will, hold on…” “MOM! CAN WE BUY VANESSA A DRESS
TOO?”
“YEAH THAT’S FINE, TELL HER WE’LL PICK HER UP TO
GO IN AN HOUR!”
“OKAY! THANKS!” “Yeah she will, we’ll pick you up
in about an hour to go buy one.”
“Okay tell your mom thanks for me, I got to go,
bye!”
“I will and bye!”
