Chapter Ten
"Bye guys!" I waved
as the car pulled out of my driveway.
"LEAH MARIE CHRISTON, JUST WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME WHAT
YOU'VE BEEN UP TO?!" My mom stormed out of the
house.
"Oh shoot," I grimaced; I can't believe my parents
never crossed my mind through all of this.
"Oh shoot? OH SHOOT? YOU WERE GONE FOR TWO DAYS, AND ALL
I GET IS OH SHOOT?!" My mom walked over and smacked me
over the head.
"Mom, you have every right to be upset-"
"DAMN STRAIGHT I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE UPSET."
"-BUT, I just didn't think. Here, I'm grounded
for two weeks, and I'll help with any chores you and dad want.
I've just been stressed and the guys and Patrick took
me-"
"ANOTHER THING. PATRICK. I DON'T THINK YOU
SHOULD BE WITH HIM FOR A WHILE."
"-to the beach, cause I needed-WAIT WHAT. WHAT THE HECK
IS WRONG WITH ME SEEING PATRICK?!" I joined in on the
screaming in my driveway. Oh, what the neighbors must
think!
"HIS MOTHER CALLED," My mom folded her arms over her
chest, "When exactly were you going to tell me that you sleep
with boys?!"
"Umm, that would be never. Because I'm EIGHTEEN,
MOM. I DON'T NEED YOUR PERMISSION FOR THIS STUFF.
And if it's any conoslation," I lifted up my bag and
started walking inside the house, "Cassandra hates me for
it."
-
"LEAH YOU LET ME IN THIS MINUTE," My mom banged her fists
on my door.
"What was that?" I mocked her, "I can't
hear you. MUSIC'S TOO LOUD." I walked over to
my radio and turned my country up on full blast.
"ARE YOU GONNA KISS ME OR NOT," Thompson Square blared
from the speakers, and only a slight booming was heard from the
door's direction.
I took out my phone and texted Patrick. "Soo...
How're YOUR folks taking you going AWOL for two
days?"
"That bad, huh?" He responded in a minute.
"They're planning an intervention as we speak. That
is, if my mother can take down the door."
"Music blaring?" I could practically hear the
chuckle in his voice.
"Ah, you know me too well."
"Yeah, that's been said before."
"LEAH YOU BETTER OPEN UP OR I SWEAR-" I turned the music
up even louder and set my phone to vibrate so I could know when
Patrick texted me back.
My dad would be home in an hour, and that's when the real war
would start. So I packed up a small bag of things and climbed
out my window. I landed in the tree I've bee using to
sneak out since I was fifteen and climbed down gracefully. I
couldn't go to Pat's, his parents would tell mine. So
I went to the place I knew they'd never find me: my secret
treehouse.
To any possible readers who are
currently recyling oxygen into carbon dioxide: I am soso
sorry I haven't been writing. I don't even have an
exuse, I was slacking. Proabably will happen again, but
I'll try my best to avoid that. I LOVE YOU GUYS!
And I mean, if you want to spread the word, I won't
complain AT ALL.
