Chapter 6: Sleep Over
 
            The next week had been amazing. Half of the seventh grade girls were still in awe of my relationship with Seth. The other half were still obsessing over him. I would have to do something about that. I had already gotten Amanda to stay away from him. She makes me so mad! She’s so lucky that Seth and I had been at the mall with Jared. Because if it hadn’t been him, I wouldn’t have calmed down, and Amanda would have been in a trashcan unable to get out. She was running her hand up and down Seth’s arms and shoulders.  The only thing I got to do was grab a fistful of her hair and yank her back. In the process, Jared had grabbed me while I was screaming my head off at Amanda with threats.  Jared had said, and I quote, “You’re not allowed to come to the mall without me anymore. You need someone to be here that can control your emotions so you don’t have another breakdown. Don’t want you to get banned from the mall now do we?” I wanted to be in a bad mood, but Jared insisted that I be in a happy mood. Against my will of course. Anyway, it’s Friday now. Seth and his family are hunting tonight, so Charlotte was sleeping over. We were down in my room dying of laughter as I told her about the incident at the mall (except how Jared controls emotions). “I’m serious! You should have seen her face! And Jared’s! Hers was scared, and his was fuming! It was scary but funny.” I laughed. “I wish I could’ve seen that! I wanted to go to the mall today, but Jake wanted to do something else. I should’ve tried harder.” She sighed. “How is it going with Jacob anyway? Is it still the lovey dovey crap it was a month ago?” I ducked out of the way as she threw pillows at me. “I…knew…it!!!” I said between laughs. “Whatever. How is it going with Seth? I thought you guys were hanging out tonight.” “No, not tonight. He went to his aunt’s house. It’s amazing. I met his family last week. Rachel doesn’t like me, but I did hiss at her-“I started. “You hissed at her?! HOLY CRAP!! Why? What did she do? I bet her reaction was priceless.” She laughed. “Well, I was laughing at something Ariel said and I guess it offended Rachel. So she grabbed Seth and pulled him away from me. So I overreacted a little.” I smiled slightly. The rest of the night consisted of movies and sugar. Lots of sugar. We were running around the house until Robert was able to get his arms around me. “I think you two need to go to bed. Now.” He whispered groggily. I could tell we had waked him up. I suddenly felt tired. Charlotte had gone downstairs and crashed on the floor. Robert carried me up to my bed. As I fell asleep, I was thinking about how I would see Seth tomorrow. Slowly, I drifted into a dreamless sleep.
