Later that night,
Nate and I cried for a few hours, and eventually went to
bed. Today is Friday, which means school. Torture.
I shake Nate awake. "Nate, go take a shower."
He gets up, his eyes are red and puffy, and he heads into
my shower.
He is taking this almost as bad as I am.
His mom is never really there for him, and my mom was.
I straighten my hair. When Nate walks out, I'm in my
bra and underwear.
He walks out with a towel around his waist.
"Oh uhm, sorry." He says turning.
"Nate, we've been together for 3 years. I
don't mind." I say blushing.
He turns back around to face me. "Alright." Nate
blushes.
We both turn as we get dressed.
I put on some white skinnies, with a light blue shirt.
We head downstairs and get into Nate's car.
"Gosh, Nate.. Everyone is going to know." Tears
form in my eyes.
"I'll be there for you, as much as I can. I
promise."
When we get into school, people give me those stupid
sympathetic stares. I see Lily, she trys to avoid eye
contact, so I walk up to her.
"Sav, I'm so sorry." She pulls me into a
tight hug.
"Guess, I'll.. just have to hang out with you a
lot more."
Her frown turns into an evil grin as she whispers,
"Perfect."
"Uhm.. what?"
"I mean like, good. You need a friend."
Then she just walks away.
Nate gives me a, 'weirdo' look. "Sorry babe, I
have to head to my first period class."
He walks away and I head to math. I sit next to my partner,
Madison. She is one of the nicest, real, blondes you could
ever meet.
She grabs my hand for comfort. "I'm sorry Sav. So
sorry."
"Uhm, it's alright.."
"Listen, you might not believe me, but I have to tell
you something about..Lily."
Great, what now? "What is it Madison?"
"Well, Ryan likes her. He wanted to suprise her. He
went to her house and her parents said she was in her room.
He opened the door quietly. The lights were off, but there
were candles lit everywhere. On her walls, there were
pictures.. Pictures of YOU. She was like meditating or
something.."
"Lily? So thats why she never let me in her
room." I whisper.
"I'm sorry Sav. If you ever need a friend, call or
text me. Lily just seems,, weird.."
"Alright, thanks Maddie."
So great, I have a physco lesbian best friend.
