Should've Kissed You
/Chapter 2/
Ariel Langston
"So do you know where you are going to school yet? It starts in 2 weeks." Jake asked when we were about halfway down the road. I took out my headphones and looked at him.
"Nope. No clue." I look in his brown eyes. He looked into mine.
"Well I hope that you go to the same school with me." He looked at the ground. And then giggled. I've never heard a guy giggle. Not even my brother.
"Whats funny?" I ask with a hint of laughter. He looked back up at me.
"Riverside High, home of the Tigers. Roar." He made a paw with his hand. I giggled and did it back. He looked  down the street. "Wanna race?" He offered.
"Yes." I smiled. I look at him and we both stop in unison.
"Alright, do you see that stop sign down there?" He pointed about 3 miles down the sidewalk.
    "Yes I do."
"We'll race to there. ReadySetGO!" He zoomed off. I laughed and ran. I ran past him and kept running until I got to the sign. "How did you do that?" He asked when he got to the sign.
"Mixture of dance and soccer.” I leaned against the sign. He stood in front of me.
“Ariel?” He said, so soft it sounded like a whisper.
    “Yes?” I looked up.
"Would you like to be friends?" Jake asked looking down at the pavement.
"I thought we were already friends." I said confusedly. He looked up and smiled.
"Phew. I did too, but I thought I'd ask before I assumed and annoyed you." He blushed.
"No, never." I laughed. "What do you wanna do now?"
"I could show you where you will go to school..?" He offered smiling.
"Sure." When we started walking. I pulled my phone off the brace and checked my messages. "Mandy Boo" When I saw her name I nearly jumped. I opened the text message. "Hey babe!<3" I quickly reply. "Hey boo, Im with this insanely adorable guy. Lives next door. Can't wait for Saturday, you'll get to meet him!!<3" I put my phone into my pocket of  my soccer shorts. I turned to take a quick glance at Jake. He was watching me.
"Was that an iPhone?" He asked with his eyes wide. I pulled my phone out of my pocket.
"Yes?" I said slowly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a White iPhone 4S. He put it next to mine.
"Ha, two friends think alike, except yours is black." He laughed.
"Hahaha, yeah." I put my phone back into my pocket, but before I let it go it vibrated. New Text Message. "Mandy Boo" I unlocked my phone and it opened to her message. "Oh My god. I cannot wait! Love you!" I texted back before Jake could read. "We have the same phone just his is white, lol(; Love you too boo!" I closed the message so that it went to the main screen. I held my phone just incase Mandy texted. We walked in silence 'till we walked by a McDonalds.
"Are you hungry?" He asked gesturing towards the McDonalds building.
"Not really, just thirsty." He walked towards the building and I followed closely behind.
"How may I help you?" A lady behind the counter asked.
"I'd like a number 1 and" He looked at me.
    "A water." I finished.
"That all?" The lady asked. Jake looked at me making sure I didn't want anything else. I shook my head yes.
    "Yes ma'am." He smiled.
"Your total is $4.50" She opened the register as Jake pulled out his wallet. I reached into my pocket to pull out mine but he stopped and paid. We walked off to the side while the lady rang up some other customers orders.
"I could've paid for my own water." I whispered to Jake while he picked up his bag of food. I waited for him to fill his cup with soda, when he came back I slipped a dollar into his pocket. Now we are even. Jake and I started back on our adventure. I sipped on my water for awhile. I checked the time on my phone. 3:39pm. I text my mom "Hey, walking with Jake be home soon." She knew I was out with Jake but she could have been worrying so I had to reassure I was fine.
"Do you want some fries?" Jake broke the silence. I shook my head.
He looked straight ahead.
"Do you see that building down there?" He pointed to the horizon with his McDonalds cup. "That's Riverside High." Jake stopped by the side of the road. He started waving his hands and then whistled.
"What are you doing?" I asked. Laughing at the movements of his arms.
"Getting a taxi, do you wanna walk all the way back to our houses thats like 15 miles." He was sweating.
I laughed. I whistled and then waved my hand. A taxi showed up. "Thats how you do it." Jake gave me a face and then opened the door for me. I scooted to the far side and he came in after me. He told the driver his address, because I obviously don't know mine fairly well yet. The taxi ride was quiet, just me and Jake casually exchanging looks. The taxi stopped and Jake paid the driver, again refusing to let me split the pay.
"That's what friends are for." He smiled. He opened the door and we both got out, I said a quick "thank you" to the driver and closed the door. Jake gave me his phone, "Put your number in." So I did. "Ariel(:" I walked up the stairs to my house opened the door, waved good-bye to Jake and closed the door. I plugged my phone up and read my missed messages.
"Mandy Boo"
"Haha, it was meant to be, night."
"909-572-6589"
"Hey, it's Jake."
