Just A Girl - Chapter 2

 The next morning, I wake up to Kenzie shaking my shoulder. "Morning, sunshine," she giggles, walking into the bathroom. I rub my eyes sleepily. It's 11:00. Man, I must have slept in really late. Kenzie was still in her pajamas, though. She emerged from the bathroom with a toothbrush in her mouth. "Better get ready," she says as she spits into the sink. She was really cool. She wasn't afraid to be herself. "Okay," I say, standing up. "What do I wear?" I ask, searching my suitcase.

She thinks for a minute. "Just casual," she decides, looking in her drawer.
I decide on some Hollister short shorts and a tank top with my favorite converse shoes. My hair is naturally wavy, like Kenzie's, so I'm ready to go.

"Mom!" She calls, running down the staircase.
"Yeah?" Shannon pokes her head out from the kitchen.
"Me and Carter are going out for a little."
Shannon smiles at us. "Aw, Carter, you'll love it here!"
"I know," I smile back. "Thank you, Ms. Sky."
"Oh please, call me Shannon."
"Okay," I promise, following Kenzie to the car.

"What do you wanna do first?" Kenzie asks me, making a turn.
"Um," I think. "I don't care."
She laughs. "It's Hollywood, and you don't know what you want to look at?" 
I shrug. "I never really thought I'd come here. This is still so surreal for me."
She glances at me. "Well, wanna meet some of my friends?"
"Sure," I smile, looking at the palm trees. 
"Carter, this is Jake and Ali." Kenzie announces ten minutes later at a Pinkberry.
"Hey," I smile, shaking their hands. Of course, I know them both. Jake is an actor/singer and Ali is an actress/singer. I'm seriously hanging out with the top 3 most famous people in the world. Jake has dark hair, hazel eyes, and a nice build. He's hot, just to let you know. Ali has brown hair like me, but it's pin straight. She's really pretty and nice, as well as Jake. Well, Jake's not pretty, but hot.
"Are you guys really dating?" I ask Kenzie and Jake.
They both burst into laughter. "No, no!" Kenzie laughs, trying to breathe. "Everyone says that!"

"We're honestly friends," Jake laughs. "I love her like a sister. Same with Ali."
I nod. "That's cool." I twirl my hair around my finger.
"You have amazing hair," Ali squeals. 
"You're kidding me, right?" I ask her, looking at her flawless head.
She shakes her head. "It's perfect!" She giggles.
"Thanks," I giggle too. It felt nice to have friends.

That night at dinner, Kenzie and Shannon said they had an announcement to make. Mom and I just sat there, having no idea what was going on. 

"So, it's been five days," Shannon says, smiling.
"Carter, my agent wants to sign you!" Kenzie spills, covering her mouth.
I drop my fork on my plate. "What?"
They stand there nodding as mom hugs me. "Oh, Carter, this is amazing!"
Suddenly, it hits me, and I'm jumping up and down with Kenzie. I'm going to be famous!

It's been three months since that announcement. Me, Kenzie, Jake, and Ali are best friends now. Inseperable. I love them all to death. I've been on a lot of interviews, but I'm still climbing up there. This thing is so new and unreal to me. Like, people rushing up to me at the mall. "Oh my gosh, you're Carter Branson!" They would shriek, pushing posters at my face. I loved it. I just needed to get used to the attention.
