Sirois smiles; he looks devious, wicked, but at the same
time, annoyed- as if doesn't want to tell me about my mother.
"Tell me more," I repeat my words, and stare at him; eggar for a
reply.
"Traitor," It seems as if he was spitting the words out. "A
stupid little b*tch," Sirois's eyes move to the floor, from where
he hisses, loudly.
I try to stay calm and control my anger; but it's hard, because I
can't stand him talking like that about the woman who gave me
birth. "Can you just tell me what happened?"
There must have obviously been something that happened, which
caused Sirois to hate my mother so much that he killed her.
Sirois looks up at me and then starts to talk. "She was...let's
say...My friend?" He pauses, and swallow. "A very very very close
friend, because that's what she always thought of us: Close
friends, nothing more,"
I stare at him, starting to understand the story a little. Let me
guess, Sirois liked my mother, but she didn't think of him much
more than a friend. "So that's why you killed her?"
He starts to laugh at my words of innocence. "No, fool," And then
a smirk wipes across his lips. "She decided to be lady of the
night, and then got herself involved in business she didn't want
to be involved in,"
"Lady of the night? But..With who?"
"Andrew Thompson; the school's player; I told her so much not to
fall for the man's plans, but she didn't listen, she thought she
was in love and he loved her,"
I narrow my eyes. Why did he kill my mother, then? "I don't get
this," I'm frustrated now, this story is not making any
sense.
"I'm with Unknown on this one," Dylan places his hand on my
shoulder, I forgot he was even in the room.
"What's there to get, you idiots," Brett cuts in. "Dad hasn't
even finished the story," He shakes his head and lets out a tried
sigh. "All dad has said so far is that he and Unknown's mother
were friends, but this player jerk guy named Andrew Thompson
started dating her mother, and her mother decided to be Andrew's
lady for the night,"
"Yeah, but what I don't get is that Why did he kill her?" I'm
almost angry now.
"Well, he was going to get to that part at some point," Brett
says back, sharply.
"Okay, guys, relax," Dylan breaks in. "Let Father continue," As
he says this, all eyes turn back to Sirois, who is sitting there,
not caring about me and Brett arguing, or even the fact that his
step-son(Dylan) is supporting me.
Sirois continues the story as if nothing happened. "She came to
my house, banging on my door asking me to help her because she
had done something that she was forced to do, she told me she
gave up her virginity for Andrew,"
I keep my gaze on Sirois, he seems a little upset while saying
all this. "And what did you do?"
"I sent her home," He looks up again, wickedly. "I turned my back
against her and sent her away, right when she need me the
most,"
"But why?" I question him; why would he turn his back against the
one he loved so badly.
"Because I know that she would take my advice, and then leave me
again, maybe for some other guy," Sirois pauses. "I wanted her to
understand that whatever she had done was not right,"
"But that still doesn't explain my question," I stop. "Why did
you kill her?" I'm annoyed and frustrated now.
"Because she decided to be stupid again!" He stands up and shouts
in my face; a few drops of spit landing on me like flakes.
What could she have done that caused Sirois to be so upset? "I'm
sorry, please continue," I whisper. I want to hear the next part,
but had to apologise first in case he gets angry and refuses to
tell me the 2nd half of the mystery.
"We moved on, and she didn't talk to me, until we met up at the
same college," He smiles. "She had no choice but to talk to me,
because I might as well be the only person she knew," Sirois
sighs. "Me and your mother went out for a while, until David
Brown decided to come in,"
"Who's David Brown?" Dylan asks, curiously.
"I think he's probably just some guy in their high school," Brett
says, casually and then we all turn back to Sirois.
"David Brown told her how I wasn't right for her, and how he
loves her," Sirois looks at the ground, there are tears in his
eyes; but he acts strong, and tough, as he has been. "She leaves
me again, for David, and they turn out to have a longer
relationship than anyone, and then as they get older, they
develop their relationship; they get married and then they have
you," He stops and stares at me, right in the eye. "And that's
it,"
I raise my eyebrow. "I don't get it, that surely couldn't have
been the reason,"
"Oh, but it is," Sirois gets up and walks around the room.
"Scarlett Brown Cromwell," That's my full name! Scarlett Brown
Cromwell I finally know my full name.
"Woah, didn't know I had a father who gets emotional over a
girl," Brett snickers from his place.
Sirois ignores him and turns to me. "Do you know how hard it is
to chase your love ones and find they have no feelings for
you?"
I shake my head, confused. "I don't..." There is still some part
of the story which he is too scared to tell of. He is hiding
something.
He closes his eyes and then walks to the door. "Just kill this
girl, I want no traces of the lady of the night, even if it is
her daughter,"
