remedy

Chapter IV.

"Cameron, I didn't expect you to pick me up." I say, "I decided to pick you up because I stopped by the gas station on the corner to get some gas." he says. "Oh okay.." "You look beautiful right now." "Thanks," I kiss him as he stops at a red light, "You look handsome right now." "So, how did you get past what happened today?" "Cameron, there's something I need to tell you." "What is it?" he says. I take in a deep breath, and I close my eyes for more than a minute. "Well, I ---" Before I could tell him, he opened the car door hence we're at school, and he looks into my eyes "You what?" I look down to avoid eye contact, "I'll tell you later." I step out of the car and he slams the door, and he holds my hand. We walk into the prom room, "Is that Jennifer? That girl who's dad is in prison for killing her uncle?" I hear a girl say to her friend, "Yeah, I heard about her dad, too. I saw it in the newspaper." her friend responds. They both laugh, and one of them points at me. I just noticed that was Cameron's ex.. "Babe, do you want some jello?" Cameron says. "N-no, it's okay." "What's wrong?" he frowns. "Nothing, actually, I'll have some jello." I say, and he starts to smile. He takes a fork, and feeds me jello. I smile and I feed him some jello, "So Cameron," his ex comes by us, "why are you dating her?" "You don't need to question why we're dating. It's not a secret that I'm dating her because I actually love her and she's not like all the girls now-a-days." he says with frustration, "Come on Jennifer, let's go dance." he takes me and dances with me as the room fills with more and more teenagers. We slow dance, as the other teenagers slow dance, and Cameron's ex is grinding with her boyfriend.
