I stood
on the front porch steps, wondering when they would come.
Just after that thought, a slim black mini-van pulled up
front of the house. I pressed my lips together and watched
nervously as the boys got out. Louis was the first one out. I
looked over at him and saw him staring at me, his eyes never
leaving my body. I bit my lip and stood awkwardly. While he
looked at me, I took a moment to study him. His chestnut
brown hair was tousled and a slight bit messy, but it made
him look cuter than ever. He was wearing a simple red striped
t-shirt, skinny jeans and a pair of old-ish looking running
shoes (<lol I dunno). His eyes locked with mine and I
stared into his large green eyes as they returned my gaze,
looking at me intently.
"So uh, you ready?" Zayn broke the silence.
I nodded and ran down the steps.
"Sorry about calling you so early," Louis
apologised. "I didn't realise what the time
was."
"Its okay. I was up anyway," I lied,
smiling. We climbed into the van and Harry started the
car.
"Oka-kaayy," he said loudly, stepping on the
gas and moving out of the street. "We're going to
the park first to have a picnic. It's just down the
road."
I watched as the car skidded to a stop beside a parking sign,
and we all got out silently. Liam led the way through the
swaying arms of the green willow trees, and in front of us
was a large meadow with a huge, blue lake beside it. The
waters were calm and surprisingly blue, unlike all the other
lakes I had seen.
"It seems...quiet," I mused, looking around.
There wasn't a person in sight, and the meadow looked so
misty and beautiful that I was afraid to trample on it's
grass and flowers.
"No one ever comes down here. It's kind of a
secret spot," Louis whispered in my ear. "A world
away from all the people, the fans, the screaming."
"A secret world," I repeated, grinning.
"I like the sound of that!"
Niall spread out a giant red checkered blanket next to the
lake, and we all settled down on it. Liam pulled the picnic
basket closer and took out the food. We all selected a piece
of food and chewed slowly. Well, except for Niall who was
stuffing his face with a piece of chicken. It was a bit
awkward because nobody knew what to say.
"Soo," Harry broke the silence, looking at
me. "Have you always lived in London, Tara?"
"Nope," I admitted. "Only the past 8
years. Half my life I've lived in Australia."
"Nice," Niall spoke up in his cute irish
accent. "It's beautiful down there."
"Yeah," I agreed, thinking back to the
previous years. "I lived on the Gold Coast. Right next
to the beach and all. I still miss it. Alot."
"How come you moved?" Louis looked at me
with question.
"My stepdad." I said flatly. "He was on
holidays when he and mum met. Then they fell in love
and...you know. We moved here, which was his home."
"And...you don't like the guy?" Louis
pushed on. I winced. Did he have to ask such sensitive
questions?
"No. I like the guy alot. His the best stepdad
anyone could ever ask for and I love him way more than my
real dad who died 12 years ago," I answered
sarcastically. Realising what I just said, I covered my mouth
with my left hand. Ohmigod. I just said that. Let out my
biggest secret to Louis Tomlinson infront of One Direction. I
looked to the ground and felt my face turn red.
"Sorry..." I heard Louis say, but I decided
to ignore him. I bit down on my sandwish with force, munching
hard.
Louis's
POV
God Louis. Did
you have to be such a big idiot all the time? Stuff up? Hurt
a girl's feelings? I hung my head in shame as I watched
Tara eat angrily. I couldn't believe myself. And yeah,
apologising will help. Fix everything and rewind the time.
yeah right. I angrily yanked at a piece of grass but ended up
falling backwards.
"Ow! My bum!" I yelled loudly. I heard the
boys laugh and looked up. I swear I caught Tara smiling the
teeniest bit when I looked at her. Yes. Tara was my girl, and
I would do anything to get her to be mine.
