chapter 1 
"Kayla, it's time to get up." 
Great, today is the day. The day I'm leaving the city I love, and my friends, to move to a small town in the middle of nowhere. Since my parents' divorce, my mom's been having money trouble. She thinks it'll be better for us to sell our house in the city, and move to a smaller town. One that just so happens to be four hours away, just cause her best friend lives there.

"Kayla! Now! Heather and Aubree are gonna be here soon!"
Kill me now. I really don't want to have to say bye to my two best friends, that I've known since I was four. I climbed out of my bed and looked around my room, the emptiness and the boxes piled up bringing up a lump in my throat. What was I gonna do?
...
"I can't believe you're leaving!", Aubree said, tears in her eyes. We were standing on the sidewalk outside of my house, after having our last hang-out. 
"Kayl, honey, it's time to go", said my mother. I hugged the girls one last time, and got into my mom's SUV. I waved until they got so small that I couldn't see them anymore, and then turned around and pulled out my iPod. We were in for a long drive, and I was not looking forward to it.

Four hours later, I was jerked awake. "Kayla, we're here!" I looked out the window, and saw a huge house, surrounded by trees, two cute labrador puppies running up to the vehicle. "We get to live here?", I asked. This could be great! I thought to myself. "No, we're just here to visit Jenn. You used to hang out with her son when you were really little. Alex." "Greeat", I replied. I got out of the vehicle, and followed my mother up to the house.
...
Jenn seemed really nice, and after we were sitting at the table for a while, my glass of lemonade half gone, I heard someone coming in the door. "Oh, that'll be the boys", Jenn said. "Alex! Come in here, please!"
In walked the hottest guy I had ever seen, with an equally gorgeous guy following behind him.
"Alex, this is Kayla. You guys used to be best friends when you were little!", Jenn told him.
"Hey", he said, a smile on his face. "Nice to meet you, again, I guess." I smiled at him. "Oh, and this is Travis. We're gonna go play Xbox downstairs, wanna come watch?" "Um, yeah, sure.", I replied. Wow, I can't believe this! Maybe this move wouldn't end up so bad after all...
